Brian Schweitzer says his 'gaydar' goes off when he sees Eric Cantor

Former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer chose an interesting path and offered puzzling critiques since he tossed his name in the hat for a potential presidential run in 2016.

But comments the Democrat made about Rep. Eric Cantor and Sen. Dianne Feinstein in a lengthy profile published by National Journal have probably knocked him off that path.

In the piece, Schweitzer shared his perceptions on Cantor's sexuality while discussing the Virginia Republican's shocking loss last week against an unknown primary candidate.

“If you were just a regular person, you turned on the TV, and you saw Eric Cantor talking, I would say—and I'm fine with gay people, that's all right—but my gaydar is 60-70 percent,” Schweitzer said in the interview.

“Don't hold this against me, but I'm going to blurt it out. How do I say this ... men in the South, they are a little effeminate," he said. "They just have effeminate mannerisms.”(continued)

Schweitzer is thinking about running. He's a wilderness man who likes fishing in the morning and whiskey in the afternoon. He's opinionated and holds nothing back. He's an old line democrat.

BUT he's still a democrat and puts him at odds with everything we believe in because he would be partnered with the likes of Elijah Cummings, Harry Reid and Alan Grayson if elected.

LOL, I just did a search for a pic of this guy. Southern men are the toughest, the most manly in the nation. My 70 year old father in law could take that fat, moon-faced piece of blubber with one hand behind his back. He should come visit the South some time.

What a peculiar statement. I never thought of Southern men as effeminate. Perhaps this guy is going for the anti-Semitic trop that Jewish men are “cosmopolitan” and therefore not masculine. I never noticed that Cantor, despite his faults, was anything less than masculine.

It's true. Schweitzer is using his "observations" to insult Cantor. Besides, if being homo is really fine, why go around trying to detect it with your "gaydar?" We're all the same; it shouldn't matter.

My former hair stylist was a homosexual (I know, big surprise). He told me gay men dream of being able to "corrupt" a straight man and "turn" him.
