That's why I keep hammering away for FReepers to find a copy of Victor Klemperer's "Language of the 3rd Reich". In the book Klemperer details how the nazis manipulated the language as a means of manipulating German society.

It was easier for Germans to accept the idea that the Jews were being "relocated" than to accept the idea that they were being shipped off for extermination. I've read that many Germans started out believing that Jews were being "relocated" to places where they would be happier among their own kind. By the time the truth began to sink in, they were all complicit in the crime.
