Rand Paul Defends Obama Against Dick Cheney
Newsweek ^ | June 20, 2014 | Pema Levy

Senator Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, has waded into the ongoing blame game over who is responsible for the unfolding crisis in Iraq. A constant critic of President Barack Obama, this time the Republican presidential hopeful sided with the president and criticized the George W. Bush administration.

Paul’s intervention follows an op-ed written by Paul for the Wall Street Journal in which he criticizes President George W. Bush’s decision to go to war to oust the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. “Much of the rationale for going to war did not measure up” to the “Weinberger Doctrine” by which President Ronald Reagan decided whether the U.S. should involve itself in foreign military adventures, Sen Paul argued.

On Sunday Paul will return to the fray. In a clip of an interview that will air Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Paul, a libertarian who is considering a presidential bid in 2016, responded to former Vice President Dick Cheney, a key architect of the Iraq War who recently penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed attacking Obama’s foreign policy...

Awwww.....Rand should just go get some doggone shampoo and wash that greasy head of his out. I mean, seriously, besides some of the crazy crap he comes up with, that curly greasy mess of hair reminds me of “Old Mayonnaise” herself....

To some people, stirring the stew whether it needs it or not appears useful, regardless of whether it accomplishes anything or not.

For me, the more that Rand Paul says and pontificates, the more I am assured that I will never cast a vote for him.

I’ve posted often about “the nut not falling far from the tree”. This is just more proof IMO.

Rand Paul to those who were massacred on 911:

TOO BAD! You only happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. If we had only waited for another decade or two of UN resolutions, maybe Saddam and his terrorists would have changed their ways!

As you can see from this discussion last night, Rand has lost me.

Add this to AMNESTY, felon voting rights, being against Voter ID.

...and THIS CLOWN thinks he can win the Republican Primary. NO WAY...at least if the Tea Party has a say.

Paul also missed the video of ISIS gunning down innocents like dogs.

this may cancel Paul’s ticket.

MAY cancel his ticket? If the voters in Kentucky have a few wits among them, he will not be re-elected. He’s scum, just like his father.

Dear Republican politicians: When the Democrats are getting their behinds kicked, don’t put yours out there to be kicked, too. Love and kisses!

Answer: The media. Rand Paul wants favorable media coverage. The easiest way for a Republican to get good sound bites is to attack conservatives.

“Much of the rationale for going to war did not measure up” to the “Weinberger Doctrine” by which President Ronald Reagan decided whether the U.S. should involve itself in foreign military adventures, Sen Paul argued.

Oh really ?

Saddam fought a 10 year war with Iran where he used chemical WMD.

Saddam invade Kuwait and had to be forceably removed.

Saddam used chemical WMD on his own Kurdish population.

After spending close to 10 years destroying his WMD components and agents, the UN determined that Saddam's own paperwork stated there was more, but Saddam could not produce them.

Under the no fly zone Saddam attacked the Kurds.

Saddam remained in power through the use of torture chambers and death squads.

Saddam maintained a large terrorist training camp inside Iraq.

So Rand Paul would be okay with Obama doing any of this stuff ?

Good point. I like many of Paul's positions, but this and his recent comments about amnesty leave me puzzled. Does he think he's going to attract waves of disgruntled Democrats by agreeing with the Left on some issues? Weird.

Though from Kentucky, Rand is a master of the Texas Side Step!

Fellow Texans, I am proudly standing here to humbly see. I assure you, and I mean it- Now, who says I don't speak out as plain as day? And, fellow Texans, I'm for progress and the flag- long may it fly. I'm a poor boy, come to greatness. So, it follows that I cannot tell a lie. Ooh I love to dance a little sidestep, now they see me now they don't- I've come and gone and, ooh I love to sweep around the wide step, cut a little swathe and lead the people on.
