One thing bothered me which is Perry’s reported dismissal of Cruz.

Bothered me too. May be because Ted whipped Rick’s pick for the Senate (Dewhurst). Perry stooped to calling Cruz a ‘junior senator’, perhaps to create a gap of experience with his own long tenure as Governor, in the event he does decide to try for President again and Cruz is in the mix.
