Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a clear lead in the Democratic primary, topping her potential challengers by an almost 50 percentage point margin, yet fails to hit the 50% mark against any of her potential Republican opponents, a Quinnipiac University National Poll, published Tuesday, shows.
Hillary leads the Democratic primary with 58 percent, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts with 11 percent, Vice President Joseph Biden with 9 percent and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo with 4 percent. No other candidate tops 1 percent, the poll found.
On the contrary, the Republican presidential primary is wide open. Sen. Rand Paul leads the pack with 11 percent, followed by Governors Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush with 10 percent each. Sen. Ted Cruz, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Rep. Paul Ryan tail the bunch with 8 percent each, Sen. Marco Rubio with 6%, and 20 percent remain undecided.
In a hypothetical one-on-one matchup, Hillary leads all of the potential Republicans by a mere 9-7 points. She leads Paul and Huckabee 49-40; 48-41 over Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan, and 47-38 over Christie.
By a slim 48 43 percent margin, US voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton. However, among Independent voters, she either matches her Republican opponent or has a slim but insignificant lead.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton takes a ton of heat on wealth, book sales and her legacy at the State Department, but she emerges with no serious Democratic challenger, while the Republican field remains clustered and flustered, said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
Just like she did in 2006 and 2007. She's inevitable. She'll sweep to victory in the primaries and then be in a strong position to challenge the Republican, just like she did in 2008 . . . .
omgawd--will this guy please go away! once and for all!!!
Nothing the GOPe can’t handle by rigging the system to nominate another ambulatory cadaver like Dole or McCain.
Hillary will be the nominee this time around. Hopefully she is the Dem version of Dole and McLame - it was their turn but time had long since passed them by.
How are the pollsters able to account for the hundreds of thousands of illegal alien voters who are currently being brought into the country and then bussed to strategic locations?
If Mrs. Clinton runs, mrs. Clinton wins. The vote count in the general is ultimately in the hands of the Left.
The illegals aren’t even necessary. The touch-screen voting machines’ output is counted by a Soros company. There is no record at all once the machines are downloaded for the count. The vote is what they say it is, no more no less.
I was going to say, this is 2014 and the Democrat presidential primary is two years away. We probably have not even SEEN the actual Democrat candidate. He’ll want to say under cover as long as possible so no one has time to research him.
