Sarah Palin just joined the ‘impeach Obama’ crowd. That’s bad news for the GOP.
The Washington Post's The Fix ^ | July 8, 2014 | Aaron Blake

Posted on 07/08/2014 1:36:07 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin on Tuesday joined a growing chorus of Republicans calling for the impeachment of President Obama, writing in a Breitbart op-ed that the influx of young illegal immigrants over the southern border "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, 'no mas.' "

Mixed/careless metaphors aside, this is nothing but bad news for Republicans — especially four months until the 2014 election.

Palin is hardly the first GOP politician to raise the issue of impeachment over the past couple years. Others include Sens. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Reps. Blake Farenthold (R-Tex.), Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.), Michael Burgess (R-Tex.), Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.), former congressmen Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) and Allen West (R-Fla.), and the South Dakota Republican Party. Not all of these folks called for Obama's impeachment directly, but all of them suggested that it is or should be on the table.

What none of these folks have, though, is a national following. That's where Palin comes in. She's the first Republican of any significant national stature to make this call. And she's the kind of figure who could potentially recruit others to the cause — people who will want to be heard. Palin surely doesn't carry the kind of weight she once did in the GOP, but she still has a significant tea party following and is highly popular among the conservative base....

Obama just needs to be referred to as a “failed president”.

Just keep repeating it at every photo op, press conference, etc.

Start the narrative.

We’ve got to force trials and convictions after Obama is out of office where its out of the political realm.

You might want to rethink this.

Being a noob and a concern troll is not a good combination.

I say, let Dingy Harry and the Dims OWN this. This is their wunderkind, breaking the law and undermining the Constitution with their blessing and support.

The Anointed One cannot go on like this for another 2.5 years.

Period.

The Freepers helped impeach the Bent One.

We can do it again.

Sorry, but The One really needs to feel like there is a possibility. When Cruz caused Obama to back down several months ago, everybody jumped on Cruz and basically told him to go back to the back of the room and wait to be called on, like a good little boy. What happened is that even democrats sided with him so Obama, always wanting to save face, backed down. He does what he does because he knows he can. What he hates is for someone to actually stand up to him. He’s a spoiled brat. The republicans hear him complain about him and they all rush out to hold his hand so he’ll feel better. NONSENSE, folks. I’m pretty sure that Obama knows exactly how much clout Sarah can have and he’s going to be watching to see what everybody else does. He CAN be reined in by those who do not live in fear of him. He hates people like that. Go, Sarah! May EVERY American with any conscience left at all fall in behind you and let the surge of support for this go all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I want to see him a lot more rattled, but even better than that, I want to see him out of the WH by the end of this year. That is what I am asking God for.

BS. That is plain idiocy. Impeachment starts in the house but has to get a trial in the Senate. The Senate is achievable and probably likely, however why ignite the democrats. If we don’t gain control of the senate, we will look like jerks, and deserve to.

I respectfully disagree. He has been dangerously effective in advancing his progressive/marxist agenda. He needs to be referred to as "criminal".

It *is* bad news for the GOP, it means Sarah has more b***s than the entire GOP leadership combined.

Ask and you shall receive Ping to Sarah's Awesome List

Even if it is written by the Troglodytes at WaPo.

I don't know about you, but I for one don't care what is good/bad for the GOP.

What is good for America?

If their is no punishment of ANY kind for this Communist Plot straight out of shifting people around after WWII.

Then the President can now truly do anything. What Difference Does it Make?

it throws a sizable and unpredictable variable into what was already shaping up to be a good election year for Republicans.

Yes, the GOP should play to not lose - except that it's a losing strategy.

Its too late to bring impeachement to the table. Obama would only use this as another diversionary tactic anyway.

It's not too late. It's never too late. In fact, it's about time conservatives took the gloves off. Even if the impeachment weren't successful, it would still be a way to focus attention on Obama's misdeeds. It would put a spotlight on him that we haven't been able to get on him for the entire time he has been in office.

The only reason NOT to go this route is if we were to assume that conservatives still get a fair shake from the media and other opinion-makers, and that we would "blow it" by going for something this bold. Well, the left-wing propagandizers are going full bore against us at all times anyway - time to stop using half measures in response.

Depends what you want to do. Make a grand gesture now - or actually win.

Take the Senate first. It’s only 4 months away, and the odds are good that will happen. As long as nothing motivates the gimmes class to get out and vote. Right now - they don’t care. A vote not cast by them is a vote for the Right, effectively.

Holding the House is going to happen, no matter how much cash the Dems fling at various races.

THEN impeach the lying, treasonous sod. Just saying - timing is everything. You have a MSM that would be ginning up the LIV’s 24/7 if it were tried now, and zero chance of it getting through.

And while I appreciate your advice on concern trolling - Yes I am concerned. Big time. Aren’t you?

Absolutely. A smart dangerous adversary. Neither the ‘moderates’ in the MSM nor the GOPe have a clue. If the ignorance of his deception wasn't so sad it would be funny.
