As Congress hurtled toward a government shutdown in the fall of 2013, Rep. Paul Ryan looked around at fellow Republicans who were agitating to shutter national parks, federal agencies and Head Start programs.
This cant be the full measure of our party and our movement, Ryan writes of that moment in his new book, released Tuesday. If it is, were dead and the country is lost.
Such moments of raw frustration pepper Ryans The Way Forward: Renewing the American Idea, a book as much about his front-row seat as Republicans favorite budget wonk as it is about his political future. [ ]
The book also takes on the tea party-fueled wing of his party [
] Ryan singles out the government shutdown in the fall of 2013. Led by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, tea partyers refused to continue funding the government unless the president agreed to repeal his signature health care lawa proposition that was never going to happen. As a result the government shuttered for 16 days and the Republican brand took a massive hit in voters eyes.

Doesn’t he have some veterans to screw over?
Paul Ryan is a liberal, and this Coulter-esque slimebook proves it. He is Bohner’s sock puppet working for the Chamber of Crony Capitalism. His main use is a foil. Democrats can beat him up for wanting to cut a few pennies, making Republicans look like retards and several idiot GOPe voters swoon over how ‘conservative’ he is.
Go to hell, Paul Ryan!!!!
So Democrats like Paul Ryan hate Republicans. This is news?
now that was an excellent post.
The guy makes me want to vomit.
Ryan is so smart he walked right into an AP/Obama machine trap....again.
You try and help them, and they go right to their paid consultants and trash the people who put them in power.
A tradition of distracting by the AssPress. I wonder what’s going on in DC while all this static fills the airwaves.
Oh, that ought to be a big seller.
Note that bad things happen out of the federal government even with everyone on “vacation”.
The GOPe running further to the left.
Consultant tested and approved.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
CBS Sunday morning is doing a story on this amnesty shill Ryan this weekend.
I’d really like to see this guy thrown out of office. He came, he saw, he ran, he turned into a POS and has outlived his usefulness. He is John McCain II.
And by the way, all of his budgetary ideas are and were total BS from the beginning. All of them presuppose a 30-year uninterrupted 4% growth rate, something that has never happened, not even close.
I remember Mark Levin ripping Ryan apart on the phone during the Levin show, over the “budgetary” nonsense. Ryan hasn’t showed up on there since.
Ryan is a pretend Republican.
Who cares about anything Paul Ryan has to say?
Liberals, obviously, what with the GOP being their domestic Emmanuel Goldstein.
Especially among veterans. /s
