“And so what happens next is that conservative voters just assign to him everything they want from a conservative candidate. They assume he shares all the values that they do, and we will have to see if it holds up under scrutiny.”

Seeing that here.

“Walker’s poll numbers rose among Republicans in the days after those miscues”

Then they weren’t miscues; were they?

He’s with the Daily Beast, so of course they look like gaffes to him.

That’s fine - I don’t see any problem with scrutinizing anyone as long as that doesn’t degenerate into screwtinizing.

I expect Ted Cruz to gain a lot of ground without having to attack Walker. He is strong enough on his own.

Everyone else is just noise.

Walker is already my second choice, but I would be very happy if he is a choice.

“He gave a good speech in Iowa. I grant him that,” said an aide to a rival campaign. “And so what happens next is that conservative voters just assign to him everything they want from a conservative candidate. They assume he shares all the values that they do, and we will have to see if it holds up under scrutiny.”

Happens all the time. That's why it is important to vet every candidate, even the ones you think are on your side. As Reagan would say, "trust but verify".

NOTE how anxious the leftists are about Scott Walker’s candidacy??

How many stories like this have we already seen this week??

How many times have the enemy media tried to trap him into saying something stupid that they can ridicule with the Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, and the late-night Comics, in just the last week?

No sooner did Walker emerge as the early poll-leader than he ran into a series of stumbles, most notably refusing to answer whether or not he believed in evolution or whether he considered Barack Obama a Christian. He then declined to criticize Rudy Giuliani after the former mayor said that President Obama doesn’t love America, while Walker sat a few feet away.
“The question for him is, ‘Is he ready for prime time,’ ” said a top strategist to one Walker rival. “He has always been a little cocky, and you are starting to see that being governor of Wisconsin doesn’t necessarily prepare you for storm of a national campaign.”
But much to his rivals consternation, Walker’s poll numbers rose among Republicans in the days after those miscues, as they brought him both name recognition and a sense among Republican primary voters that the liberal media was out to get him.

No one but the idiots at the Daily Beast believe that Walker ran into a series of stumbles. And how big a butthurt must they have as they admit his poll numbers rose?

They’re going after him and Ted Cruz. Many Dem operatives admit their fear of those two. Huckleberry, Sweater Vest, Jebbie, Rubio and etc.? Not so much.

As a guy who went to school with him and voted for him since he’s been running for elections, his record, to me, shows he does actually believe what he says.

I don’t really have a problem with him except for his stance on illegals, and he has said he has changed his mind on it. His strong point is that he hasn’t lied to get elected, when he says he will do something, he works to get it done. So I don’t believe he will now screw up 25 years of not pulling a trick to get people behind him. It’s not impossible, but it would not like him to do something like this. Walker has been a what you see and hear is what you get person.

Which is why I am glad he has changed his mind on illegals and amnesty/citizenship. I don’t believe he’s pandering, but even so, I am not giving him a lot of rope on this and will make sure I am not getting taken.

But with this major change, he is right on all major issues. He’s the best choice as it stands.

Dittoes.

And if I were Walker, I’d be kinda nervous about being the front-runner this far out.

There’s way too much time between now and November 2016. Leads do and will change.

Stumbles! Hell, I'd call them prudent actions . . . refusing to even acknowledge gotcha questions from pretend journalists.

The MSM is the enemy every bit as much as the DemonRATS, if not more so.

Waiting for the MSM to accuse Walker of something, phony evidence, etc...or spurious bank accounts .... see what sticks ....

I’ve been watching Walker over the past few years, and he is a skillful politician as well as a solid conservative and effective governor. Time will tell if any of this bloviating BS turns out to be true, but as Scott Walker put it “I wouldn’t bet against me”. Neither will I.

David Freedlander, trendy, elite, Daily Beast/Newsweek/CNN journalister, hardly an expert in Conservative politics. Hugh Hewitt interviewed him on his show - he could rarely speak a sentence without a “just sort of” or a “you know” in it. He sounded like a ‘valley girl’.

Walker’s fellow Republicans noted that other states pushed through similar reforms without the drama that Walker brought upon Wisconsin,

LOL. So it's Walker's "fault" that the RATS and their union lackeys made him their #1 target for 4 yeas? And that's supposed to be a bad thing for a Republican candidate? I suppose if he had caved he would fit right in with the rest of the GOP. I'll take "drama" over wimpiness any day.

They seem scared that he’ll take the nomination away from their Chosen One.
