If Cruz was half the lawyer his cheering section claims he is he’d have taken care of this a year ago if not long before that.
Turns out all the super lawyer stuff is just smoke and mirrors, more marketing than reality.

Guess Cruz figured renouncing his Canadian citizenship and having his birth records sealed was the way to handle it.
It has come back to bite him in the butt...big time. I can’t see him gaining any momentum...and of course Trump won’t pick him as VP.

Trying to keep up with the trumpees best we can, very hard to do.
I think this is the beginning of Teddy taking out the trump. Truth will win this time.

It seems that the Texas GOP are preparing to take care of it. Note the person who gave the interview is willing to testify in court. Make sure you read the interview that follows this paragraph. FRAUD would ruin CRUZ completely. Trump doesn’t want that. But GOPee does

Xxxxxx

In a campaign interview during his freshman senate race, a GOP Texas State Committee member sat down with the young candidate to ask a few poignant vetting questions, and here are the questions and answers from that interview… (Redacted information is to protect the witness at this moment, but the witness is willing to offer sworn testimony)

Make sure you read the interview !

If this is the best we can get from Cruz, I’m not too worried.

Well, those are the people he’s running against right now. He can’t try to beat the Democrats until he has beaten his Republican opponents. That is what he meant in context, and it is obviously true—although he has already started in on Hillary anyway (good for him).

What I worry about is if Cruz gets elected- when Congress counts electoral votes on Jan 4th- then this happens:

“The results are entered into the official journals of the House and Senate. The President of the Senate then calls for objections to be made. If any objections are registered, they must be submitted in writing and be signed by at least one member of the House and Senate. The House and Senate would withdraw to their respective chambers to consider the merits of any objections according the procedure set out under 3 U.S.C. section 15”

Many folks in Congress hate Cruz- what is the chance that folks will object to his being nominated as President or even VP?

What is Hillary or someone else sues for standing and drags out the whole process leaving Obama as President until it is resolved.

I feel that there is really going be some dirty crap going on should a Republican get the nomination and it comes down to certifying the votes.

If not Cruz, could happen to Trump as well.

Just feel this is one way for Obama to hang on for years until resolved.

And I say again, it's NOT UP TO TRUMP to do anything, just as it's not up to any of the other candidates to do anything...

Cruz is suppose to be a lawyer, why hasn't he done something about this? Surely if everyone else knows what the law says, then isn't Cruz suppose to know?

This is Cruz's problem. Hire an attorney and go to court and get it solved...take it to the Supreme Court where the ‘right’ Constitutional answer should be given...but then again, it might now be the answer Cruz is or is not looking for...

-- As a candidate, he [Trump] is one of the few people impacted and as such is the only person who can take the issue to court. He's [Trump] the one insisting it needs to be settled in a court. Cruz can't sue himself and federal courts cannot issue advisory opinions. There has to be an actual case filed. --

Maybe Cruz should take up that angle, needle Trump for not taking the case to court. Otherwise Cruz is in a pickle, I'd say. Not his fault he was born in Canada, but the issue is attached firmly to his candidacy.

Just like many Freepers attacked and benched every conservative in 12 until they got the liberal they wanted to begin with.

My memory is failing me. Who were the conservative candidates in 2012?

There are some posters on FR that have outlived their shelf-life as sincere and authentic conservatives. As they say, if it quacks ..

See if I have this right: (this is probably where I should declare the obligatory “I like Ted Cruz”)

Ted Cruz is NBC because a parent (his mother) was a US citizen living in Canada at the time of baby Cruz’s birth.

OK.

So, with lots of lonely US citizen soldiers in Viet Nam fathering children, there were likely lots of NBCs left behind to live out their days in Viet Nam. And, since these babies would all be NBC (like Ted Cruz) any babies they fathered would likewise be NBC. Let this propagate out several generations and we literally have a world of options for who could be POTUS. Just find a few strands of US DNA and you are good to go.

Also, would King of Jordan also be NBC, thus eligible, if his mother (Queen Noor) was born in the US?

This gets confusing. With this being these case even Obama, who was born in Kenya, is a NBC since his mother was born in the US(?????????).

Just trying to get my mind right about Ted.

The Constitution (20th amendment) and 3 USC take care of this - Obama will be gone. If the president-elect is not qualified by the day to take office, the law says who will take it, and it is not the sitting president or the opposing party. It is the veep-elect.

Pres. Ford was never elected! Not even to the veep slot!

That’s exactly what I hope he does in Thursday night’s debate. Trump knows this would go nowhere in court. It’s time to make Trump own it!
