They both have Iowa caucus wins, yet the only feeling voters seem to manage for these two is apathy.

Rick Santorum was unhappy.

While other candidates have managed to draw crowds of hundreds and even tens of thousands this cycle, Santorum arrived at Second Street Emporium, a dimly lit restaurant and bar in Webster City, Iowa, on Saturday afternoon, to find that fewer than 50 people had come to see his town hall.

Making matters worse, the majority of them weren't Iowa voters, but high school students who'd been bussed in from Cincinnati. They couldn't even vote in the caucus on Monday....

I donated to Santorum at some time in the past, and I still get emails from him. He missed his vocation. He should have been something other than a presidential candidate. I don’t know what ... maybe an insurance adjuster?

Huck and Santorum are good men. Far better than any DemRat candidate for sure.

Santorum had his 15 minutes of fame, so did Huckabee.
However, that fame is gone and they need to go home and stay there.

I agree (see post above). However, they should have given up on presidential ambitions sometime before this, in my opinion.

Yes, just that. I think both men have solid Christian values and had a generally good political position, but they went astray in pursuing “the ultimate prize.” The Bible has things to say about this ...

I think they are shooting for VP, especially Huck. By being available, they might be able to get some sort of job in the new admin. They will probably pull out right after Iowa.

Carly’s superPAC was given money by Cruz’s so that she could stay in the race, so that’s her angle.

I supported Rick last time.

Time for the good man to step down and just be with his family.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. This kind of tactical planning confuses me!

Were the high school kids part of Cruz’s ground game?

True. If facing Ksick and Yeh I would take Huck or Santorum either one.

There will be several good people left at the gate. Sad.

I just hope to hell the news media gets out of DM before the Blizzard moves in. It’s hard to be nice to some of them.

What does that even mean? And why would they be at a Santorum event? I predict a lot of crow eating tomorrow night.

IA people thus far have said, so it seems, that it is not Huckabee’s, Santorum’s, or Jebbie’s “turn”.

They are in it to hurt Cruz. The idiot RNC will do anything to kill the Cruz wagon. When I see the Huckster attack Cruz on his Christianity I just shake my head and think, ‘and you are a minister?’

Historically GOP has always played wait-your-turn. Santorum and Huckabee figured it was their turn.

Unfortunately they, and Jebbie and GOPe were living in the past. They did not understand what happened in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

They are still in denial that it was Cruz leading the shutdown that created the big win in 2014. They still believe (mistakenly) that the shutdown was a negative for the GOP.

By the time they learn from this history, history will have changed on them again and theyll always be a cycle behind reality.
