The New York Times reported Monday that a key congressional district in Pennsylvania isn't thrilled with its choice of voting for Donald Trump for president. The 8th District outside Philadelphia is a quintessential suburban swing district that has the unusual distinction of voting for both Trump and Mitt Romney by the narrowest of margins the past two elections. Hence the New York Times Treatment.
The headline of the piece is "Trump Voters in a Swing District Wonder When the 'Winning' Will Start." A sampling:
Usually, this pathway outside Parx Casino is reserved for self-flagellation, a private lament at the last hundred lost. But lately, as with most any gathering place around here since late January - the checkout line, the liquor store, the park nearby where losing lottery numbers are pressed into the mulch - patrons have found occasion to project their angst outward, second-guessing a November wager.
"Just like any other damn president," sighed Theresa Remington, 44, a home-care worker and the mother of two active-duty Marines, scraping at an unlit cigarette. She had voted for Donald J. Trump because she expected him to improve conditions for veterans and overhaul the health care system. Now?
"Political bluster," Ms. Remington said, before making another run at the quarter slots. She wondered aloud how Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont might have fared in the job.
That's a pretty grim picture. And it's quite possible it's an accurate one of this particular district. But if it is, this district is not an accurate microcosm of Trump supporters more broadly. And it's not close.
The same day this story came out, the Pew Research Center released a poll showing very little buyer's remorse among Trump voters....

If they are at the casino as patrons, then they have money to waste.................
I don’t have any buyer’s remorse, and I have no intention of voting for some impotent GOP loser in 2020, nor do I intend to allow some psycho demonrat in there.
Trump 2020!
I like the job Trump is doing.
I do not like the GOP Congress.
If I had anything bad to say about Trump it would be he should have fired Comey.
Obviously not someone who pays attention and gives much thought to anything other than what they're spoon fed.
JMHo
See this story dozens of times. EVERY time a GOP Gov or President wins, a few months later the Fake Media trots out this story with a tame Leftist pretending to be a "disillusioned GOP voter".
“”Just like any other damn president,” sighed Theresa Remington...”
Wahhhhh! She didn’t get 100% of what she wanted in Trump’s first 100 days. Somebody change this whiner’s diapers.
I'd like to see Paul Ryno go first.
So far So good!
We’re winning!
They’re whining!
I took a road trip through Vermont on Easter weekend and the only station I got at one point in the Green Mountains was an NPR station... UGGGHHHHHH...
Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they actually had a bunch of conservatives on the show expressing their opinions - until I listened to what they were saying and realized that they were all turncoats who were spouting the left-wing talking points.
NPR must have searched for months to find the only 3 conservatives with such deranged opinions - as if they couldn’t put on a mainstream conservative.
We must defund NPR and PBS ASAP!!!
Neil Gorsuch had his first day on the Supreme Court today. Trump has delivered on one of his most important promises. And things will only get better. I feel that our country has a future.
I don’t know a single Trump supporter who is disappointed. I know many Hillary voters who are starting to warm up to Trump. I expect Trump to win in a landslide in ‘20.
The leftist media keep finding new sharks to jump. I thought their level of insanity would diminish with time, but they just keep getting crazier.
Fake news!
Trump is my president and I support him 100%. He is doing everything he can to resurrect this great nation.
Comey is not easy to fire, He is working on a ten year contract the likes of which was instituted to make it difficult for a president to fire the Director so that the FBI would be independent.
I was always of the opinion that if Trump did at least half the things he promised, I’d be deliriously happy. I remember many FReepers had similar opinions.
So far, President Trump is WAY ahead of that 50% promise mark, and therefore I am deliriously happy.
Genuine Trump supporters here need to remember that, and ignore the enemedia and nattering nabobs of negativism at Free Republic, both of whose new tactics are to dishearten and demoralize us.
