Don’t think so. Desantis took a 3+ point lead in the latest poll.

Political in Oct 2016:

Florida spirals away from Trump

With the GOP nominee trailing in poll after poll and lacking a ground game, a low turnout may be Trump's only hope of carrying the state.

Most independents are former Republicans, not Democrats. They will break heavily towards the GOP

Hey. Politico will take its anti-Trump / anti-Republican spin where it can get it. It would have loved to write that Trump feared a national wipeout but is reduced to a Florida wipeout, which isn’t even true.

MSM Headline Today - Trump fears Florida Wipeout (because of Trump, of course)

Trump goes to Florida...

GOP wins big in Florida

MSM Headline Day after Election - GOP wins in spite of Trump

That has been the usual trend and in midterms Independents don't usually vote. Midterms draw those who have a strong party affiliation. Independents went heavy for Trump on 2016.

I have long thought President Trump would have to make several campaign stops to pull out Florida for the GOP this election.

DeSantis has run a lackluster campaign while Gillum has run a well executed campaign.

Scott started off great, but then Nelson woke up and has campaigned hard. Also, the red tide hit both coasts of the state during the fall campaign season, hurting Scott.

Scott's response to the hurricane helped him, but DeSantis' performance in the governor race may be a drag on Scott.

Florida is a purple state where elections are decided by thousands of votes out of millions cast. Good sign that GOP is ahead in early voting, but momentum from presidential-style campaigning needed to close the deal.

“Ridiculous article..”

Of course they are going to pull out all the stops..it’s the 3rd largest state and 29 electoral votes!

That said......

I live in Florida and DeSantis has run a totally inept campaign which allowed Gillam to jump to a lead early. He ran a ridiculous ad for 3 weeks talking about “Always going to bat for Florida” .. it was a joke.

Now, after the campaign shakeup, he is finally using his wife in the ads. She is not only a very good looking woman, but she is sharp and savvy and it shows in the ads. If he does win, it will be his wife and President Trump that pulls him through.

What do you think about the hurricane destruction of Michael in the panhandle? I have been concerned from day one that polling places are decimated, and concerns of panhandle voters are not the vote.
