Missouri Gov. Michael Parson (R) vowed on Wednesday to pardon Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the white couple who drew national attention over the summer after footage of them pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protesters outside their home went viral, after the pair was indicted on charges related to the incident the day before.

Parson said at a news conference on Wednesday that he "most certainly would" issue a pardon for the couple should they be convicted on counts of exhibiting a weapon and tampering with evidence brought against them over the June incident, according to The Associated Press.

"We'll let it play out and see how this all comes out in the courts, but I stand by what I said," Parsons continued.

How about a few indictments for the Antifa/BLM trash who broke the gate down and were trespassing? In a civil society that would be in order.

Good think they have the backstop of a GOP governor, but they are still being dragged through hell over doing what most ordinary normal people would do.

This is real systemic racism on display.

A pardon won’t erase a conviction. He’ll lose his law license.

So the DA will spend all the money to bring them to a show trail that will fail because of that pesky little Second Amendment. Then the Governor will pardon them? Amazing how many law abiding citizens go broke or in major debt due to political trials.

Well don’t break the Champagne out just yet.

They still face the prospect of being bankrupted and their lives totally ruined. This is kind of the point. The process is the punishment. Recently a business owner was forced to kill a looter in self defense and was subjected to the same BS and took his own life via suicide.

Every bit of this stuff is absolutely intolerable and clear dereliction of duty on the part of elected and appointed officials. They are playing with fire whether they recognize it or not. Very sad situation and a pathetic demonstration why leftists are wholly unsuited for government at any level, but here we are.

The governor can erase the conviction too, not to mention hes not been convicted of anything, let alone lose his license.

Are you sure? Although, it won’t erase your conviction, it is supposed to restore all your rights.

He is not getting bankrupted by anybody. He is a wealthy man, and he was one of the people that gave a speech at the RNC. He will have all the financial resources he needs.

Right. So why can’t the governor just pardon them now? Sort of a pre-emptive pardon. That’s what Ford did with Nixon.

Technique pioneered during the 1975-95 natural resource harvester wars in the west. As an additional measure when the state or other deep pocket party took ordinary people to SCOTUS and lost, the same bunch would then take a similar case a lower court judge who would overrule SCOTUS, knowing the ordinary people that won no longer had funds to pursue.

He could pardon them now. He’s waiting for a conviction? Let them go bankrupt with attorney fees, lose the house the were Standing guard over And then pardon them after they are convicted?

If those are the conditions, they should plead guilty now and then get the pardon.
