FR Poll: List your reasons to vote For, Against, or Abstain (leave blank) in the 2002 Election.

It is important to understand how false the "Opinion Polls" that "The Media" uses in their broadcasts really are. I submit that the usual quote of "3 to 5 percent error" is an error of sampling PRECISION. The error for ACCURACY is at least 60 percent. My reasoning is as follows: 1.) "The Media" asks only those people who THEY think are likely to vote. 2.) According to the pollster Zogby, 60 percent of those asked refuse to be polled.

The purpose of this post is to solicit the ACTUAL opinions of FREEPERS as to what the reasons are for voting in the November, 2002 USA Election. Send a message to the political parties, candidates, voters, non-voters, whomever! Now is the time to register YOUR true opinion!

Every thinking conservative in America should go to the polls tomorrow and vote a STRAIGHT GOP ticket. Period.

I'm voting for a few reasons:

1. It's my duty as an American citizen.
2. Voting gives me the right to complain. :)
3. My vote DOES matter. Florida 2000 is proof.
4. I hate liberals and everything they stand for.
5. Much of day-to-day life is a reflection of my vote. From filling up my tank, to working 9 hours a day, to buying a pack of gum... it all hinges on my vote- IOW, lower taxes!

I *never* expected to vote a straight GOP ticket. I did this time.

Although I have little faith in the CA GOP, I did my part. Democrats, especially since the 2000 Florida mess Gore created, have earned my contempt at the ballot box. This year has seen a memorial turned into a rally, the NJ bait-and-switch, pre-election vote fraud from South Dakota onward. It makes me ill, this trampling of decency and election law.

FREEPERS! SAVE CALIFORNIA from a Dem Sweep! Tom McClintock is our last, best hope! Fight waste & corruption in the CA State Budget!

Here's one for you ---

Nancy Johnson (RINO - CT) vs. Jim Maloney (D - CT).

Johnson - "I'm the oldest member of Congress, and I will fight to keep Social Security from being privatized."

Maloney - Union thug who sends paid union employees out to remove his challenger's signs (Middlebury CT last election cycle.

It's enough to keep me home. In fact, I almost decided not to vote this time around. But I despise Maloney, so I will hold my nose and vote for Johnson.

For my state rep, I have the choice of Hovey (RINO), who touched up a photo of a cell phone antenna to block its construction (upgrading the patheticly old and dangerous communications system for the police, fire and civil defense for free), and the "independent" mortician Lesko, who I almost went for until I found out he supported the "millionaire tax" in Connecticut, the miracle tax raising scheme that is just success and wealth envy.

So basically I'm going in, holding my nose, and voting for the old broad.

I vote Republican because I see a much, much brighter future for America once we remove the left wing, anti-american, socialist democrat anchor from around our necks.

1.It is my duty as a citizen to vote for the person/party that best reflectes my values.

2.IMO the liberals and there socialist values are in danger of distroying the country (and the culture). So, it is my duty to do all i can to fight them off.

3.If i don't vote i have no right to complain.

I voted early, so I've already cast my ballot. I vote in every single election to do my part to elect conservatives into office. I believe that we really need to work from the ground up and elect conservatives at all levels; from the dog catcher and school board members, on up the chain. Even though the big national and statewide races generate the most interest, our first responsibility is where we can make the most difference:  at the local level. I think we can eventually weed out some of the RINOs at higher levels if we build a strong foundation of conservatives from the bottom up.

For me, the reason to vote GOP this year is to limit the power of the trial lawyers, limit the power of the teachers' unions, and to not to start to go down the road where it is no longer profitable for the drug companies to engage in drug research. Bartley has a good op ed piece in the Wall Street Journal describing what a Dem congress would do rather than a GOP one. It is not a pretty picture. One thing the Dems would do is to try to delay the implementation of the scheduled tax cuts that are already in the law, in favor of targeted benefits for their favored constituencies, and to facilitate higher levels of spending.

I voted already, straight Republican down the line.

I voted because:
1. I am an optimist, and think my vote counts for something.
2. It is my responsibility to be an informed voter as payment for the privilege of living in this great country.
3. I can't stand the noise that comes out of the mouths of Dems and would do anything legal to just shut them up.
4. More seriously, I understand (even more so since 2000) that this is a fragile republic in need of my personal support and care. This country is my family and I need to exercise good judgment in dealing with its problems (not just take the easy route and let "a village" deal with it)and give room for the growth and opportunity of the bright minds that I know are out there.
5. I am pro-life, ALL life.

I live in Bobby Scott's district in Virginia. Like the last time around, I will be writing in Clarence Thomas. (MoJo thinks one respectable black man should have a vote casted in his favor)

I will be voting "NO" on the tax increase that they want to do in Virginia to help "alleviate" traffic issues. Well, if you allow them to tax you on this thing..they won't stop. Stop it now!!

I will also be voting for Republicans whenever I can. Although, those are few and far between in my neck of the woods. That's for sure!!
