And posting disparaging graphics about a candidate you campaigned against AFTER YOUR MAN LOST is "talking about issues"? You're fooling no one, other than perhaps yourself.

Where are those spending cuts from your allegedly fiscal "conservative"? Sure he didn't want to talk about them during the campaign, but now that isn't a problem, yet now he's still not being specific. The only thing he is making noises about is whining for a Federal bailout. I hope that doesn't happen, CA needs real cuts in the budget, not a bandaid.

And in that, Shultz says, the new governor reminds him a lot of another California governor.

Oh, oh! Soon we're going to have poster Reagan Man huffing and puffing that Schultz doesn't know what he's talking about because, he, Reagan Man, knows Reagan and Arnold so much better than others who have actually worked with both and can definitively say that Arnold's nothing remotely like Reagan.

I've read before that Arnold was compartmentalizing his advisors. And this makes a lot of sense. This is Warren's forte - using him where he is best, and ignoring him where he isn't (tax rates) is the sign of a good manager.

All gov'ts have gotten so large and unwieldy that I think we're getting to a time when good managers are the best leaders - instead of the smartest, or the best politicians or whatever.
Until we find some who are charismatic enough andbrilliant enough to slash the size of gov't, that is. But I don't see that one yet.

Dan, your observation is spot on and deserves a repeat!

You know what's sticking with me now, a week later?
What a remarkably CLEAN and ISSUES-FOCUSED campaign Schwarzenegger ran. I don't know if I can even remember such. He said nothing negative about McClintock, ever (unlike McC); and said little about Davis beyond that he'd mismanaged and needed to go.

I really think it was remarkable in that regard. He was positive, focused, disciplined, never thrown off his stride -- media weasels to the contrary notwithstanding.
