Again? Please. Wonder how long before they start warning us when the wind changes direction?
Good grief. Nothing is going to happen. They know we have a president that won't put up with their sh!t and they may rumble and make threats but the fact of the matter is that they are too scared to do anything.

"This attack as they indicated was probably going to be multiple attacks, simultaneous," he said. Maybe, to be a A.D.1517 holiday memorial type public threat?

Still...it has to be hard to be in charge of keeping this massive nation, this huge population secure. When the terrorist chatter increases...I want to know.
I am not giving my life to protecting this nation and all that we believe in like our troops are, the very least I can to is to be alert in a way that I never was before. That is all they are asking...very little actually. Easy to mock-harder to take seriously, but there it is.
More than once, an alert citizen has prevented a disaster.
I appreciate the reminder that 9/11 was real, that it can happen again-not only to me, but to those I love and this nation I love, and that reminder wakes me up again.
Just like it is supposed to do.

Because the carpet is suppose to match the curtains.But...but...I don't have carpet. I have wood floors. Now what should I do? Cover the wood floors with the new camo duct tape?

In my work, we scenario build and anticipate what terrorists might do. If we can think it, they can do it. An event that could be devastating and relatively easy to pull off would involve 20 suicide bombers with about 30 pounds of explosives in a fanny pack in their crotch. They would go to malls in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Kansas City, Houston, Seattle, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Knoxville, Trenton, Phoenix, Portland, Sioux Falls, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Indianapolis and simultaneously detonate 20 devices. It would be an economic body blow of immense proportion. They would show that they could hit anywhere at anytime.

Just flew this weekend. To speed up the process they simply announced everyone takes off their shoes...Flying commercial is going to become VERY interesting after the first terrorist is caught wearing underwear made out of C4.

Is the government THAT good at stopping potential attacks, or did Al Qaeda pretty much blow its entire wad on 9/11?
To: Timesink
No, they still have a lot of wad left to blow. I am amazed that they have not struck another major blow on our soil. They are very patient.

What amazes me even more is how these little puss*** think they have a prayer - so to speak - at taking over a US jetliner. Even if they have a sidearm or knives, it won't go over well - they would have to kill every male (and some of the females) to do it. I think the passengers on any aircraft would literally tear them limb-from-limb.
If you are traveling by air, it behooves you to very carefully scan each and every face of those sitting in first class as you emplane, plus look for individuals by build, ethnicity, and seat locations throughout the craft. Hijackers would likely be sitting on aisle seats, not necessarily together anymore as that would be a tipoff. Also, look for arab-appearing males who are clean-shaved - another tipoff. Keep a couple fine-point pens in your shirt pocket - they make good weapons, same for your carry-on bag shoulder strap, your laptop in its case, or a heavy book. Use any and all items at hand in self-defense. Above all - don't hesitate in the event of an attack. It will give them a chance to consolidate.

We have the first double eclipse during Ramadan this year. I'm talking the first in recorded history. Muslims have known about this for, um, years.
2) The Double Eclipse In Ramadan
Mohammad bin Ali reports that "For our Mahdi, there are two signs and since the birth of the universe these events have never taken place. The two signs are that there will be a lunar eclipse on the first night of Ramadan and a Solar eclipse in the middle of Ramadan." (Dare-qutni)

3) The Battle in Mina
Before Imam Mahdi emerges an inter-tribal fight will take place. In the same year hajis will be looted and a battle will erupt in Mina in which many people will be killed. Ameer bin Shauaib reported from his grandfather that the messenger of Allah said:
"In Dhul Qaidah (Islamic Month) the tribes will fight, Hajis will be looted and there will be a battle in Mina in which many people will be slain and blood will flow until it runs over the Jamaratul Aqba. Their companion (referring to Imam Mahdi) will flee to a point between the corner and the Maqaam and will be forced to accept people's allegiance."
(Al-Fitan, Nuaim ibn Hammad)

4) The Euphrates will Disclose a Mountain of Gold
The Final Hour will not come until the river Euphrates (which flows through Syria and Iraq and finally opens in the Gulf) will disclose a mountain of gold over which people will fight and die Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said:
"The shall not occur until the Euphrateswill disclosea mountain of gold, over which people will fight. 99 out of every hundred shall die, and every one of them shall say, 'perchance I shall be the one to succeed"
(Muslim)
In another narration we have been told that who ever is present at the time when the Euphrates discloses a mountain of gold should not take the gold.

Nothing is going to stop us from visiting our family. My kids flew the week after 9/11......saying they weren't going to miss out on family time.
Since then we've flown hundreds of times.........
You can cower and worry but we are going on with our lives.

You can cower and worry...I said nothing of the sort. I was commenting on airport security screening procedures, nothing more.

This will be an interesting season ahead. Watching the news of areas all around me on fire while my sky is brown, I'd say so.

I'm not directly in any danger at the time. I'm in valley, in the middle of this semi-circle of fires - east of Simi/Chatsworth, south of Stevenson Ranch fire (new, 2 miles from where my brother lives), and west of the San Bernardino fires. Thank you for your prayers - I'm passing them on to my brother and his friends some of whom are evacuated already.
