Hey, thanks, I was just getting ready to send off another group of care packages.
To: McGavin999
With the holidays coming up they could be swamped with mail and packages and are really trying to get the mail to the troops in a reasonable timeframe.

I've got a package partially put together. I'll have to check and see if the new zips apply. Thanks

The 101st didn't change but mail has been making in there in 7 days or less lately. Im sure this is going to change once all the holiday packages start rolling in.

Thanks for the heads up. If one goes to the actual article, there is an opportunity to e-mail that article to whomever you wish. So I e-mailed it to my nephew-in-law serving in the 3rd ACR and (his wife) my niece, living in Colorado with her 2 boys and another child on the way.

boxerblues : Thanks for the info!

I'm so sick of my sons unit getting left out of announcements!!! Thanks for the info. It still leaves me wondering about what the heck to put on an address now.
To: Ragtime Cowgirl; All
Please.....everyone check with their soldier before changing your address....I found out that although this states Mike's address is changing that it does not apply to him in Balad.....please check first...it has to do with what Bn they are assigned to.

I cannot believe that they really need to do this. More bureaucrat nonsense. I am familiar with Post Office distribution procedures, including APOs. My unit was for years one of the biggest movers of mail in that theatre, and I have other PO experience.
Changing addys is a pain. I do not know where some of the APO zip numbers and addys are actually situated.
It seems to me that someone is likely trying to pad their resume`with more useless adjustments for the sake of efficiency. Some things never change

I know some units are getting there mail much quicker than others. I mailed out cards to guys in several units, some received them within a week others are still waiting almost 3 weeks later and they are in the unit that are having there address's changed. Its impossible to tell what the hold up is.
