Patrick Cubbage did get his job back with the NJ Veteran Affairs; this petition is to make sure this doesn't happen again. We should be allowed to pray or say "God Bless" at funerals.
More than 3,000 concerned Americans have already taken time out of their busy schedules to show their support for Patrick Cubbage.
As you may recall, Patrick was fired from his job as an honor guardsman simply for saying "God bless the United States of America" as part of the flag presentation protocol during a religious military funeral.
We've written to members of Congress, asking them to sponsor legislation protecting the right of Americans like Patrick Cubbage to proclaim "God bless America." We've appealed to President Bush for his support of this issue.
We've heard nothing so far.
Now, it's time for "we the people" to make our voices heard. We must gather at least 5,000 more signatures on our "God Bless America Petition" if we are to gain the attention and support of President Bush and our leaders in Congress.
Please take a moment to stand with us in this fight for freedom. And encourage your friends and family to sign on, as well. If each of us could get just THREE people to sign on, that would make a huge difference.
Signing this petition does not obligate you in any way. All it means is that you believe ALL Americans have a right to freely exercise their constitutional rights.
Please take a moment to help us help those in need.
Use this link and follow the directions to make your voice heard in this fight for freedom!
Sincerely yours,
John W. Whitehead, President

Vietnam veteran Patrick Cubbage, a military honor guardsman at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in New Jersey, was fired after saying, "God bless you and this family" during a burial service last fall. Cubbage has obtained the services of the Rutherford Institute, who is now looking into the right of the government to censor a citizen's speech about God.
