A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (photos): 10/17/03

President Bush and First Lady, Laura left California yesterday, and arrived at Tokyo’s Haneda airport (at around 3:00 am, Pacific time), where they were greeted by U.S. Ambassador Howard Baker. The President met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for talks on subjects such as international trade and the reconstruction of Iraq. The President and First Lady were dinner guests at the Akasaka State Guest House, where they dined on Japanese steak and Yakatori chicken, sitting on the floor, but were allowed to dangle their legs through a hole in the floor!

Japan is only the first stop in a whirlwind 9 day tour of 6 Asian countries and Australia, and including the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday. There are LOTS of pictures, many of which could have been selected as the “best,” (and which I have tried to assemble in some sort of orderly fashion), so enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

Look at the Sec. Service guy behind the Pres. He look like a Men In Black with those shades on! LOL!

Seriously, he is one tough looking guy who is one of many guarding our Pres. He and Laura will be as safe as anybody possibly can be.

Please pray for the victims in the Chicago office fire dosers. One fatality so far, about 11 trapped in stairwells etc and are in critical condition. Tragic

You know what? It looks like Laura's left pinkie finger is contracted somewhat. I see that in the photos here consistently. Will have to look specifically at others but I wonder if she either has arthritis in her hand or perhaps an old injury to that finger.

Check it out. I'd never noticed it until you pointed out her hand position. I wonder if it hurts her to extend her fingers

Wonderful, wonderful pictures! They all look so happy (except for Men In Black guy--he's pretty serious). I especially like the ones where he took off his tie--unusually relaxed for him. And is there a color or style Laura does NOT look absolutely georgeous in? (except for maybe the bows, of course ;-))

Did you notice how close GWB is keeping Laura? Hardly a picture he's not touching her and just one or two where she's more than an arm's length away.
