ABC Radio News now referring to Terrorists in Iraq who kill our Troops as “Iraqi Resistance”

The ABC Radio News, which airs on ABC radio affiliates nationally, is now referring to terrorists in Iraq who are engaged in terror and murder of Iraqi civilians, Iraqi police and politicians, and international troops and diplomats as “Iraqi resistance”. When I heard the airing of the news, a local host who airs a live gardening show at the time of the report was so outraged that even he, a-political, had to comment on the unbelievable anti-American provocation of the news broadcast as soon as the news report concluded. ABC Radio News is now putting the terrorists in Iraq in the same category and terminology as the civilains during WWII, the “French Resistance”, “Dutch Resistance”, etc., who fought against the Nazi occupation, or the civilian “Philippine Resistance” who fought against Imperial Japan. Muslims terrorists, who are congregating in Iraq from all over the Islam Extremist world to commit terror, are now “resistance” fighters and are no longer terrorists, according to ABC News. I am sure many of you just heard the so-called “news report”. By such terminology, they put American troops who are being killed by these terrorists in the same category as Nazi’s, and the terrorists in the category of liberators. You can be sure, this terminology is now the approved word-smiting that will be used by all the anti-American affiliates, such as NBC, CBS, CNN and the others, in the same manner, over and over again, to try and condition such a polluted slant of events in Iraq upon the psyche of the American people. The ABC Radio News has been, with established purpose towards misinformation and propaganda, simply benefactors of the enemies of Democracy, and has been so ongoing for a protracted period of time. It is obvious, they are now beyond misinformation and propaganda, and are now entering, with clear anti-American provocation, the arena of acting as, simply put, an enemy of Democracy, and a cheer leader for those terrorists who murder our troops. They will be found to be accountable to history, and to those who love freedom.

When you start referring to these killers as resistance fighters...you are hurting the morale of our own troops. We might as well call the gangs out in LA...resistance fighters as well. The LA gangs are fighting oppression and deserve be called resistance fighters. And while we are at it...lets refer to Fox News as Revolutionaries...because they are standing out of the mainstream leftist media.

Alqaida Broadcasting Company....I guess you can refer to Democ rats to "Iraqi resistance" as well, since I don`t know any group of people who are more opposed to Iraq becoming a democracy than those mutts. We all curse out France for supporting Saddam, ha ha ha! France can`t hold a candle to that when it comes to the democ rats in this country. The two most shocking things that happened in this country at the beginning of the 21st century was 911 and how the democrats betrayed their country to support terrorism, and how they are still doing it everyday. Treason? That word doesn`t even begin to describe it. Benedict Arnold? The new name synonymous with treason will be "democrat".

I was just think this. I listen to WABC in NY and their news reports are totally biased.

When the priest with homo porno was arrested 2 weeks ago, ABC refused to acknowledge the type, merely saying porno. Porno was newsworthy, as long as they censored the homo part. If they were intellectually honest, they should have not even mentioned porno at all...

Also, after the UN decision, the WABC headline was "UN 'Hands' US Vote, Russia, Fr, Germ still Not on Board" (sic, but very close). They had to insert the opposing opinion right into the headline.

France is the Dims biggest ally in the world, taking the title from Chiana and North Korea.

France and the Dims have ALL of the same goals. Sick...

First of all, in all fairness, we must acknowlege that "newspeople" are not the sharpest tools in the drawer.

Journalism, half a century ago, was the last refuge of the inept, who needed to feel like they actually did something useful in college, and everything beyond 6th grade algebra was hopelessly beyond their reach.

Nothing has changed. To that mentality, the misapplication of a simple word like the "resistance" is quite natural, and not at all surprising. They live in profound ignorance, blissfully unaware of history, dictionaries and syntax.

Having said that, this is not just ignorance talking. Assuming that editors are a few elementary-school grades ahead, there is no excuse for such a blatant misapplication.

But think about it. In an age where "investment" replaces "taxes" and nobody blinks, Orwellianism has become firmly entrenched.
The best we can do is ridicule them at every opportunity, and attempt to herd them all into the "would you like fries with that" occupation for which they are (perhaps) better suited.

That was very "French" of ABC News. Typical Euro-weenie rhetoric.

Let's be reasonable here. Their country has been invaded, rightly or wrongly, and those that are trying to defend it are being labelled "terrorists"?? Would people in this country, if it were similarly taken over, also be labelled as terrorists for fighting what they viewed as an occupation force??

Why are you making such a claim, when there is such strong evidence that so many of the people doing the attacking and killing are not Iraqis, but, rather, are from Syria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Lebanon, Chechnya, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, and other places?

We did not attack Syria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Lebanon, Chechnya, Egypt, Sudan, or Algeria. So, your use of the phrase "their country" is suspect.

That's right, Electrician

These are Terrorists from other countries.

Not there to defend, but to prevent democracy in Iraq.

"So you're saying that U.S. troops, helping to defend South Vietnam were terrorists because they came from outside of that country?"

Oh, boy.
Not quite.

They are little more than common street gangs, employing guerrilla tactics, but with no possibility of winning any conclusive military victory. The best they could hope for is to erode the determination of the Bush Administration to bring calm and free passage to the rest of the Iraqi people.

Hell, many of the "resistance fighters" aren't even Iraqis.

Considering that Peter Jennings the other night all but suggested the president was a chicken for shortening his stays on his trip to Asia, this doesn't surprise me.

I can embrace reasonable.
Ignorant and dissimulating I can't abide.

That these killers are the butchers or the Baath ruling losers and mostly foreigners makes your comparison laughable and irrelevant.

I am fine with calling them the Baathist resistance. The Baath is quite literally Arab Nazism, and the Baathists are quite literally Arab Nazis. So calling them the Baath resistance, or the Saddamist resistance, wouldn't cause me any heartburn at all.

But to call them the Iraqi resistance would, as it ignore that 80% of Iraq that we liberated from the paws of these monsters. In that sense the new Iraqi security forces that we are building are the real Iraqi resistance.
