TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.

The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.

Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Hannity says he will have updates on Terri on his show tonight and will investigate whether or not this bill will ever be heard.

"NOW, THEREFORE, I, JEB BUSH, Governor of the State of Florida, by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by Article III, Section 3(c)(1), Florida Constitution, do hereby proclaim as follows:

THAT I AM THE BIGGEST WIMP IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!

So be it proclaimed, this 20th day of October in the year 2003."

(I'll crawl on my hands and knees for forgiveness if the next few hours prove Jeb to be a man.)

continued, talking about the husband...

Dobson: Michael won a $1 million malpractice that he pledged to use for her treatment then shortly after placed the DNR then consistently refused any medical therapy...there is a conflict of interest..."

Hannity: Her dad told Michael's attorney to go ahead and sue him because they are claiming that Michael wants her dead so she can't talk.

Dobson: She isn't ON "artifical life support"

(I cannot type as fast as they talk!)

Dobson describing what happens w/out water...

Hannity & Dobson both have calls into Jeb's office. (Yeah me too!)

His lawyers say "no"; Dobson says 8th Amendment says "yes" (cruel and unusual punishment - and it's not even punishment!)

Dobson: When you consider that this woman is going to die and can't be brought back, it's going to be tough on jeb to find out he should have done something...call out the mitilia...do something....we just can't start killing people!"

Dobson: "Handicapped woman in Tn wrote in and <slammed Florida

Dobson: Surely someone will step in here and save this woman.

Dobson" Focus on family - we're trying to get the word out - call the State legislature & Governor and DEMAND

Dobson: "Jim King is helping to block this effort to save Terri"

Dobson; I do hope tens of thousands of people around the country intercede for a woman who can't speak on her behalf.

Dobson talks about Lindsey Oconnor who is there - uterus burst during birth - deep coma for 47 days - docs said she wouldn't survive and she came out and she's perfectly normal today. Terri at least deserves a right to have that possibility.

Hannity: And she's being denied her religious rights. She can't get last rights....

Hannity: We will have latest on Terri on Hannity: Colmes tonite and we'll try to find out if this bill will EVER make it to the legislature.

I think the segment is over.
I apologize for terrible spelling...

I'm at a total loss of words right now... I said in a post last week that I've always believed in my God and my Government... now I'm not so sure who or what I believe in anymore. I just can't believe something like this is happening in this country. I'm just angry, frustrated, and... very sad.

Well, I know this is one side of the story, but according to Kings office and Byrds office, there was never such a bill to be presented. Alot of what Dobson has said is from Terris website.

I am not suggesting that Terris website is wrong, just pointing out what the other side of this is saying... they claim there never was a bill, therefore was never going to be presented.

Wait a minute...wasn't Byrd the one who supposedly drafted the bill? And his office said there never was such a thing?

I would tend to discount what politicians tell us. We all know how they can lie. Al Frankan (sp?) wrote his liar book about the wrong side of the coin - calling conservatives liars, IMHO.

Canticle of Deborah's note below reveals the Establishment's latest incremental (thin enterring wedge) advance prying us up from our "protection of innocent human life" credo.

I've added key highlighting to her analysis.

Please note that this is occurring under GOP control of the Statehouse and the legisture. Is this the state with the largest elderly population in the nation? Hmmm?

Don't you wonder yet how much of DemonRat Lite can we -- er -- live with?

Why isn't it clear yet how much easier it should be to elect REAL, CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS? People's lives, and rescuing the American Ethic, depend upon that recognition.

I'll crawl with you Deo!

Hubby just came in to listen to Dobson's interview. As hubby was leaving the room, he said Jeb is just an "empty suit."

Right now I agree.

Dr. Dobson just said that Terri's Bill wasn't introduced. That it was blocked by Sen. King

Other than the killing of Jesus Christ, I do not believe I have seen people so intent on murdering one human being as they are with Terri Shiavo.

Isn't it moot, now.

Since, according to doctors, Terri has "begun the process of dying", no one will assume resposnibility for her now. If they wouldn't act before, they surely won't act now.. They would not accept the liability.

If they stopped this and then failed to save Terri, then Schiavo could sue them for "causing" his wife's death and score several more millions of dollars.

Dobson's making her case very well. Says if someone were starving a dog in Florida they'd be arrested. Regarding the governor, and I paraphrase - he cites the Thomas More Center and all the other lawyers who insist Jeb does have the authority, says Jeb should do whatever he has to do and worry about it later, because if she dies, he can't take it back. He "MUST NOT ALLOW HER TO DIE." Very emphatic, well stated.

Says her family says Terri is a fighter, and she's making that known now.

That's another thing - if Terri didn't want to live, what's keeping her alive now? Other than her own will, since she has had no food or water for 5 days. I find that remarkable and very telling.

Wait a minute...wasn't Byrd the one who supposedly drafted the bill? And his office said there never was such a thing?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, according to his assistant (byrds) he made a comment in passing stating that if a bill regarding this came to the senate floor, he would vote for it. He said that he never said he would bring it to the floor. This is according to his office, this afternoon, from his assistant.
I have posted the phone number above, Please call and ask to speak to his assistant and ask him "why wasnt terris bill presented".... youll be amazed by the answer.
I wasnt saying that this side of the story is accurate, I was merely pointing out that this is what I was told by their office regarding this.. I have been told this many times today, first time happening at 8am when I called and spoke to Byrds office. They were completely unaware of this bill at that time.. After the senate closed for the day, i called and was told the above, he would support but would not present.
Blessings
Heather
I agree but I can't believe Jeb and the rest of them are going to let her hang on (if she can) for another day. I didn't want to believe what an earlier post said, that being, they just want to say "gee I tried" and play both sides of it, but I am beginning to believe that now. This is unspeakably cruel and vicious. And relatively few of us seem to be so upset too if you consider a country of 285 million.
Woman caller on Hannity just made an excellent point in regards to Terri being denied last rights. The caller said that if this was a disabled Muslim woman being denied the right to face Mecca for prayer that many organizations would be storming the Hospice now.
And so will most who watched Jeb speak to the Florida Legislature today.
He was joking, laughing, and speaking with no urgency. Why not at least use his bully pulpit.
I'm sorry, but Jeb is full of sh*t
