The Democrats will flambe her. Let's see if the GOP keeps her twisting in the wind like it did with Miguel Estrada.

Senate Democrats have not said whether they will filibuster Brown.
I dare them to.

Durbin also quoted her as saying, ''Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies.'' ''You have described the year 1937 — the year in which President Roosevelt's New Deal legislation started taking effect — as 'the triumph of our socialist revolution,'''

See Great Minds really DO think alike.

What indicates to you that they have a reason NOT to "filibuster" any nominee they don't like?

Well, forgive me for having a different interpretation on Estrada.

IT WASN'T THE GOP WHO KEPT ESTRADA TWISTING IN THE WIND.

Anyone know if she is Catholic?

If she is, she might as well not have even shown up.

I can't imagine Republicans asking Liberal appointees questions like this. They normally just join in with the Democrat Lovefest.

Yes, if she is Catholic or Hispanic, the Democrats already hate her and they will destroy her. LOL, how many simpleton Catholics and Hispanics do you suppose will continue to vote Democrat? Answer: Plenty, unfortunately. The fools may as well walk around with "Kick Me" signs taped to their backs.

"I can't imagine Republicans asking Liberal appointees questions like this. They normally just join in with the Democrat Lovefest."

Which is why they are referred to as the "Stupid Party"...

It's sickening.

And I dare the GOP to MAKE the dems filibuster. For real. None of this "we'll continue this tomorrow" nonsense. Make them filibuster 24/7 and get it all out there and over with. If they have the ba&&s. Both sides! The GOP needs to stop bending to the will of the shrill. They're giving them everything by NOT holding them to task.

Someone tell Sandy O to retire right now, and nominate this woman to the Supreme Court.

I think you may see forced 24/7 filibusters closer to election season -- Bush can campaign on it when people are paying attention, saying "I need you to vote for X for senator so I can stop these unfair filibusters and give these good candidates an up or down vote on the floor of the Senate."

According Senate democrats, this is the face of evil ...

California Supreme Court Justice Janice Brown testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, on her nomination to be U. S. circuit judge of the District of Columbia. Brown is the first black woman and one of the most conservative jurists on California's Supreme Court. Civil rights and abortion rights groups are pushing Democrats to add her to the list of Bush nominees they are blocking through Senate filibusters because of rulings limited abortion rights, corporate liability and affirmative action programs.
