Then let me be the first to hope he has conquered it and wish him well in dealing with it.

Since a lot of us don't watch the today show due to the side effect of projectile vomiting..Can anyone tell me how Matty has been lately regarding Rush's problems?

Mainlining minoxidil?

Let me be the first to mention a moral difference between inadvertently becoming addicted to a prescribed painkiller and knowingly consuming an illegal drug for purely recreational purposes.

So, will we see the national media cover this like they did the last Enquirer story?

I'd like to be the second.
Although thankfully, even if the article is true it seems likely that whatever "drug problem" he may have had is in his past.

Here's the Drudge text so far:
MEDIA FLASH: ENQUIRER TO ALLEGED PAST ILLEGAL DRUG USE BY TOP TV MORNING PERSONALITY... // 'MATT LAUER COCAINE DEALER TELLS ALL' -- 'HIS SECRET DRUG PAST EXPOSED', NATIONAL ENQUIRER ALLEGES IN COVER SPLASH, SAY SOURCES.... LIE DETECTOR TAKEN: PASSED, BY 'DEALER-FRIEND'... MID-1980S, LAUER ANCHORMAN IN RHODE ISLAND, STARTING OUT IN BUSINESS; MAN 'SOLD HIM COCAINE 5 OR 6 TIMES'... Let me be the first to mention a moral difference between inadvertently becoming addicted to a prescribed painkiller and knowingly consuming an illegal drug for purely recreational purposes. Does that morality get fuzzy when the "victim" wishes to go "out with a bang" prior to the second attempt at treatment?

"Had" or "has"? If he has a drug problem, that's news. If he had one 15 years ago, that is not news. If reformed alcoholics should be left alone, so should reformed cocaine-users.
To: Tree of Liberty
I do agree with your moral difference statement.

So should drug users be left alone as soon as they deal with the problem? If not, what is the time limit that has to pass before we stop holding it over them?

I hope I don't see multiple threads on Matt Lauer using coke. I could care less.

Enquirer: Matt Lauer Drug problem
Just a cover story.
So people won't investigate Laurer to find that he was just born stupid.
Like most of his friendly, photogenic colleagues.

Drudge is a little late. Howard Stern was talking about this on his radio show this morning.

When I do the Today show out here I get up at 2am because out here you have to be up and ready to go at 4 because its 7 in the east. So I was getting a little tired, but I feel actually good because I flew out here and Rush Limbaugh sat next to me on the plane. He gave me some vitamins. She then spun her head to flip her hair as she smiled and yelped: Whaa! It feels good!
Katie Couric, the co-host of NBCs Today.
I wonder what jokes Katie will be telling tomorrow about her co-host?

Let me be the first to mention a moral difference
I reject the assertion of a difference and find the Rush to make one a desperate tactic to rationalize and/or obfuscate.
