e mail links for sponsors of "The Reagans"
Free Republic PA Board ^ | Oct. 24, 2003 | Owl_Eagle and Dr. Scarpetta

Posted on 10/24/2003 7:56:35 AM PDT by South Hawthorne

(Boy, I hope this works)
Dr. Scarpetta posted the list of sponsors for CBS's upcoming "Reagan Rip Job" movie to the PA board this morning.  I've compiled a list of links to e mail the sponsors so we can let them know exactly what we think of them helping to spread slanderous lies about one of the finest Presidents we've ever had.  If the links work like they should, you should go directly to a page to email them.

If anyone can find e mail addresses for the four that I couldn't, please post.

Thank you Dr. Scarpetta!!!

I will be contacting these outfits, and warning them that is this thing airs they will be on my "Permanent Boycott" list. "Permanent Boycott" means they have engaged in activity so egregious that they will never see a dime from me again. It also means I don't have to bother remembering how they got on the list in the first place -- so there is no way to make it up.

It's a short list so far (it's been comprised of General Mills for maybe 6 years now), so there's room for more.

The Target link doesn't work. I tried to submit, but it kept putting me back into preview. So, I called my local target and asked for the manager.

I told the Target manager that not all of his customers were hip, kiberal soccer Moms who have the hots for Clinton and hate "evil" Republicans. I told him that I'd probably save some money this holiday season from boycotting the store if Target didn't pull their advertising from the movie.

The manager claimed that he was a Republican. I told him to contact his superiors and let them know about customers like me.

NO!!! And, this is a HUGE point you just made! When NYPD Blue first began airing, my local affiliate didn't air it. I think this might be a good angle at which to attack, and I've considered starting a separate thread on it. Anybody with me?

The sponsor list needs to include ALL advertisers on CBS, the network. Including Sunday NFL football. If CBS should insulate its advertisers by running the miniseries uninterrupted, they will have taken the boycott club from our hands.

I will be taking notes this Sunday during Football and any time I watch CBS shows in the future. All the advertisers will know of their impending plight should they continue to advertise with CBS.

Dollars to donuts the reason CBS is airing this contrived hatchet job is we'll find out there is a future Babs special at CBS that would me a major ratings monster. This is the payoff for that future Babs special.

See if I am wrong or right on this, but this makes sense to me, or why would CBS allow a mini-hatchet job to go this far?

My e-mail to Saturn:

I have heard that Saturn is sponsoring the CBS movie about Ronald Reagan. I have seen excerpts from the movie and I believe that it is shameless slander. Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest men of the last century.

If Saturn sponsors the movie, I will NEVER purchase your product and I will encourage my friends and aquaintences to do the same.

Thank you for your time.

Their response:

Hello XXXX,

Thank you for writing to Saturn and for your interest. I apologize if our advertising during "The Reagan's" offends you in any way. I can tell you that Saturn advertises during many varieties of programs to appeal to the demographics of that particular show. I have documented your feedback about this show and your feelings about our advertising on it and forwarded it to our Advertising Team.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback

Sincerely,

Good list.

But, I think the most effective thing would be to write to ALL major companies advertising on CBS at any time, and tell them, that unless the put pressure on CBS to NOT show the movie, we will boycott ALL CBS advertisers, including them.

If all major advertisers would pressure CBS, that would do the trick for sure.

Of course, we need a list of these major advertisers and flood them with e-mail, calls and regular mail.

Your list is a good start -- we should add to it. I guess we need to start watching CBS and make note of their advertisers, especially in prime time and the large ones. They have the most impact.

Just finshed e-mailing the whole list. Hooray! It took over an hour...but hey it's worth it and I agree we need to hit all of their major advertisers. I'll keep an eye on this thread for more addresses, and sigh, watch a little of CBS to see if I can identify some myself. Let's stick it to Baba S. big time!

My letter to WWJ-TV Detroit CBS Affiliate

CBS announced that they will be attacking the November sweeps race by airing a movie about Ronald Reagan. Partial script transcripts and actual audio clips of the production have begun appearing on various trustworthy internet news channels. THese clips are damning in their revision of the great work of Ronald Reagan and the job he did as President of the United States. Television and film producers have perfected the art of revising history and lying to their viewers, but this film is beyond anything ever seen. The scriptwriter has already admitted to making up in its entirety a dialogue between President and Mrs. Reagan regarding dealing with AIDS. Revising history, when most of the subjects of the story are still alive is reprehensible. CBS and anyone involved in this project should be forever ashamed of themselves. WWJ Management should take this opportunity to stand up for the truth and refuse to broadcast this production. Many people are discussing a boycott of CBS and their advertisers over this issue. Remember, Ronald Reagan won his elections to teh Presidency with unprecedented numbers of votes. I dare say that a large number of these voters still feel a deep affinity to this great man and refuse to see him villified in this fashion.

I look forward to your response and hearing that you will have the fortitude to stand up to the network and refuse to air this broadcast.

Sincerely,

Go to this list CBS Affiliates and inform the local Afilliate GENERAL MANAGER that you and your extended family in not only your area but in several other states are DELETING the CBS affiliates' Channel# from your tv's listings set-up.
That means that not only will you be boycotting JAG, Survivor, AMY, CSI, etc, but also, "Eye on Where-ever" and their local morning and evening news programs.

Nothing puts the fear of God into a GM more than realizing he will be losing serious viewership ratings shares for his local news shows, etc. and subsequently local advertiser revenue.

When the affiliate GMs all start hollering at "BlackRock" in NYC, CBS HQ will undoubtedly listen.
