Yep, he's got an M16A2 [you can see the rear sight adjustment knops protruding] with a MILES laser projector for *Lasertag* field exercise training. When *shot* with the laser lightbeam, triggered by a blank shot being fired, a harness with photocell laser light receivers on the web gear suspenders and helmet band registers a hit with a smoke detector-like chirp when *hit.* It's a great way for introducing young troops who've seen too much Hollywood to learn that some behaviours in the field will almost always get you killed.

Well, using a 3.5/88mm is a bit of overkill, but better too much than too little. But for target range work where a sportsmanslike clean kill isn't a consideration, the little 57mm M18A1 does just fine out to around 600 yards or so. Less with T25E5 canister, of course.

of the one I saw before...and in fairness to Al Gore, at least there was no clip
in the M-16 I saw there...of course there could have been a live round in the chamber.
