Boykin sparks status debate

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and the head of the Senate Armed Services Committee "agree to disagree" over whether Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin should resign temporarily while his actions are under review, says an official close to Mr. Rumsfeld.

This is part of the chess game.

Boykin is too smart to have acted without some kind of green light. Warner's the good cop and Boykin's the bad cop...and the Muslim terrorists had better be paying attention to the latter.

Game over.

Morning!

Assuming LTG Boykin did not violate anything in the UCMJ, in the end it doesn't, or shouldn't, matter what Rumsfeld or Warner think. It should only matter what President Bush thinks. Generals serve at the pleasure of the CinC.
