Liberalism is a quagmire

by Floyd Geron Looney

Halloween decorations are going up all over the country, but the UN doesn't need anything like that. It would only serve to spruce up the delapidated organization. I am not refering to the condition of the aging buildings either.

It should not surprise anyone that the worlds socialists are still upset that a tyrant has been overthrown by forces of liberation. They've been taking that particular stand for generations. The socialists and communists have only began to cloak themselves in the guise of 'democrats'.

You'll notice that the leftist media never compares Iraq, where occupation has really just begun to the occupations of Liberia, where peacekeepers only keep peace in clusters. Nor will they mention that the UN still has control of Kosovo, with US troops still there on that 'one year mission' Clinton sent them on several years ago.

Compared to Liberia, where 'peacekeepers' have been for a year longer than Iraq, the American-led effort is a big success. But, you ask, there aren't daily attacks on peacekeepers in the african nation. True, but you should ask 'why'?. Because the peacekeepers in Liberia are pretty much ineffective.

Of course Liberia is a much smaller, less powerful country than Iraq. The Islamic terrorists don't feel nearly as threatened in that country as they do in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Where are the weapons of mass destruction?

Thats exactly what the coalition is trying to find out. They could easily be buried in the desert, they might be in someones garage. Give it time, they've barely started.

There are reported to be 130 huge weapon depots, some are many miles square. The US inspectors and demolition teams have only fininshed with about 10, according to some news reports. That leaves a lot of depots where they could still find the WMD's.

Anyone who has concluded they don't exist are just stupid or are being politically obtuse.

Some ask why haven't those Americans allowed a new civilian government to take over already? There isn't really an Iraqi government, yet. Again, give it time.

Kosovo has been under the UN's control for several years and they have yet to allow the local government to govern. The UN, through UNMIK, recently imposed tax increases. I've read the UNMIK regulations, they didn't mention the Kosovo General Assembly. The KGA is mentioned as passing laws and such in most of the other documents, but taxes seem to be a UN thing.

We should be asking the same questions about Kosovo, Liberia and other missions that we do about Iraq.

In other news...

You may have noticed that not many countries donated money to the Iraq rebuilding besides the United States. Its not surprising since most countries seem to think the UN should be a welfare program that pays them lots of US dollars. They balk at actually doing anything that might seem to endorse the toppling of a dictator.

The Saudi's had no problem putting on a televised telethon benefiting the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, so why not have one for Iraq? Well, they would rather have one for the terrorists.

The Hate Parade

You may have seen news articles about the recent demonstration in Washington DC which the leftist press described as an 'anti-war protest'.

It was not an anti-war protest. Read their signs and listen to their statements and you will notice that they have a different agenda than that reported in the media.

These people, organized by communist front groups, were actually protesting against American victories in war. They aren't anti-war, they are in favor of American losing the war. One of the signs they had stated: America must be destroyed for peace to prevail. That about sums up the demands of the marchers.

One of the major demands, stated all the time it seems by this loud and annoying minority, is 'Declare Victory and Withdraw'. You should be scratching your head and muttering to yourself about that one. This common refrain by the hate America marchers makes absolutely zero sense.

Declare victory and withdraw? These people would have to live in a fantasy world where saying things make it true, like 'Bush stole the election'. This is nuts, you don't declare victory and leave and really think you have won something. You can't beat terrorists by saying you've won and then acting as if they didn't exist. These people need to be shaken and slapped, but that won't help.

These people don't live on the same planet as the rest of us, their minds don't process data the same way. Their socialist, liberal minds are the true quagmires.

>>>That sticker wouldn't even stick to a decent car! <<<

Unfortunately, Seattle is populated by the kind that would stick that to a Mercedes bumper.....

However that was the only Carter For President In '04" I have seen...hopefully it isn't a trend. However, one must remember that this is a town that has a 15' tall statue of Lennin in one of the "trendy" parts of town.
