The Righties: ( There are more conservative celebrities than you ever imagined )
Celiberal ^

The Righties:
Although they are not given as much media coverage as the celiberals, the conservative celebrities (or those that lean slightly to the right), we call them "The Righties", should be identified. These celebrities have the courage to speak out in an industry primarily flooded with liberals. We encourage all of you to take extra effort to patronize these patriotic celebrities.
** For the purposes of this site, we will define celebrity as any famous person who is NOT one of the following: show host, news personality, journalist, columnist, politician, or religious leader. It's not that these types of people are not celebrities, we just choose to not list them on this site.
The celebrities listed below have been contributed by our users.
Know of a conservative celebrity that needs to be added to The Righties list? You can contribute your own Righties here.

This link is very interesting.
The Stars Weigh In on War
SHIRLEY JONES "It's astonishing to see how many of these Hollywood big-wigs are trying to undermine President Bush."
RON SILVER, "The West Wing" "Saddam Hussein is out to hurt us, and he will if he has the opportunity. The inspectors will be fooled again. I believe when we're done over there we'll find French mechanical parts all over the place, because they were violating sanctions. I know I don't have a popular stand in Hollywood."
BRUCE WILLIS "I thought about signing up, but I was told I was too old. I called the White House to see what could I do.
KID ROCK "We got to kill him, slit his throat."

Are you guys sure about Jeff Gordon? I understand that he's a practicing Christian, but with Hendrick's pardon and close relationship with Bill CLinton, I always wondered about Gordon's politics. Any proof?

If they're including pro wrestling-related people, like Linda McMahon, Droz, and The Ultimate Warrior, then let's also include Bradshaw (who when asked who he was voting for in 2000, replied something like, "In Texas, we have no income tax, no helmet laws, and we put murderers to death. Who do you think I'm voting for?), Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler (who tore Algore a new one, during the 2000 post-election brouhaha), among others.

Odd. I seem to recall years back that Loretta Lynn was a big pro-choice activist.
I have some doubt about how many of these people are really conservative. Some of them may back our actions in Iraq, but that's not the same as being a "rightie".
To: Celtjew Libertarian
Also Shawn Michaels.
Some of these are reeaaaally questionable. Fleetwood Mac? Tom Cruise?

I'm not sold on this list. Just because some of these celebrities may support the war doesn't make them "righties" who I should support. Doing what is right and supporting the war on terrorism isn't a hard thing to do...and while I give them credit for their support, many of them are still liberals.

I'd like to see this cross-referenced with their opinion of the Second Amendment. Bet the list would be shorter if the anti-gun folks were cut.
To: shadowman99
Me too! Many of them aren't "righties." Hell, Travolta is a CLintonista and recall Voight being pretty liberal.

Seems to be a bit silly to call Ron Silver a "righty." Pro-Israel lefty is more like it. Alan Dershowitz is the same, and he's no "righty."
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Dixie Carter? she has come across as a rabit feminist. I don't think so on a number of these.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Most of these are either
A) people who I've never heard of
B) people who I don't care about
or
C) people whose conservative credentials are questionable at best.

That was her image on "Designing Women." She is a staunch conservative in real life and was celebrating and gave an interview at one of W's inaugural balls.

Any peta person is a left or at the very least a useful idiot. I sort of assume the majority of the Hollywood crowd are idiots of one form or another. I don't take their political views terribly seriously, and wish others wouldn't either. Now and then one emerges with decent intellectual merit worth listening to, but it's not often.
To: longtermmemmory
Dixie Carter and Delta Burke are very conservative. They both attended the Bush Inaugurals.
Carter is on the record stating that she had an agreement with the Thomases. She would say the liberal lines on Designing Women if she could sing a song on the show.

The list would also be cut in half by simply putting "Country Music singers" and "NASCAR drivers" as single entries.
To: Snuffington
Exactly. While Sliver may support the war for pro-Israel reasons, he is hardly conservative on anything else. I'm wondering if this isn't a PR list.

I would like to submit for inclusion to this list one:
Adam Baldwin here are some of his bona fides:
Posted by another poster on the Firefly website:
>>> "Let's not split hairs. A lie is a lie. Even a lie of ommission... Except this time it was much more important, and involved the loss of lives!" <<<
Response by Adam Baldwin:
Even if the now infamous "sixteen words" turn out to be mistakenly included in the SOTU:
1.) The lies, distortions, and hypocrisy on the part of the president's political opponents, are far more insidious. Lies for political gain, in time of war.
2.) The thoroughly justified and congressionally supported military action in Iraq, has saved tens of thousands of lives which otherwise would have been murdered by Hussein and his regime.
3.) What are the goals of those who are screaming, "Lies, impeach the president?" Is it to get at the truth? Or just business as usual at the old DNC?
4.) The outcome of the next presidential election will be determined by one thing only... Our domestic economy.
Thank you,
A.B.

A lot of the "why" links don't work anymore, and some of these seem a bit of a stretch. For example, I didn't really see anything in the "why" for Dana Carvey that would justify labelling him as "right," other than that he performed for Bush Sr. and Bush thought he was funny.
