Site Lets Pet Lovers Marry Companions (I.e., people marrying animals)
wlky ^ | 10-29-03

If just being the owner and caretaker of your pet isn't enough for you, MarryYourPet.com can help you take your relationship to the next level.

The site offers online weddings between humans and members of any other species, though it points out that the marriages are not recognized by any government or church.

As with human-to-human marraiges, there are no guarantees of happiness, either.

"If your marriage breaks down or you can no longer stand their smelly breath, it's entirely your own problem. If Fido goes barmy and eats all the china or Fluffy piddles in your trainer, we will only laugh," the site says.

It also calls marriage "the ultimate way to prove you care."

Rats, I thought this was about pets marrying other pets. Like those cute calenders with cats or dogs dressed up in wedding attire. :)

Hillary married a pig, and Bill married a bitch.

Here is the picture of Bill with his "wife" imitating Momica and Hitlery's pig.

This is disgusting. How many demented people are there to keep this website (marryyourpet.com) going? Unbelievable.

There are few people on the planet who love animals more than I do — many equally as, but not more than. I've had multiple dogs continuously for over 35 years, have rescued more animals (horses, birds, dogs, cats) than I can remember. I've raised and trained German Wirehaired Pointers for show, hunting and field trials. In many respects, I prefer the company of animals to most people.

So, speaking with some authority from that background, I state categorically that to anthropomorphize animals and treat them as furry people is NOT LOVE. Rather, it is the height of selfishness and hedonism. Real love for animals is shown by making an attempt to understand the world as the animal perceives it, and to channel their natural behaviors into activities that help them live happy lives in a human-dominated world.

To put it as plainly as possible, I love my dogs precisely because they are dogs, not human beings. To expect them to be anything other than dogs would be a betrayal of their trust in me.

I'd love to marry President Bush's two doggies, but that would make me a bigamist. So, I won't propose to them when I go to D.C.

Arf, Arf....

Was there any doubt that this site would be run by a woman, who looks like this?

Matilda
Pet and partners priest for longer than she'd care to remember.

So you've found your partner for life, the only thing is - he's an animal. Not just that he leaves hair in the bath and has abominable table manners, but that he really is an animal, e.g. with feathers, scales or whatnot.

No matter. What's important is that you're happy, not their facial hair or how many legs he's got. So go on, if you really love him and you're in this for life, isn't it time you married your pet?

I used to joke that if I wanted to get rich quick I would move to California and start a denomination for animals.

In Mark 16:15 Jesus said, "Preach the gospel to every creature.

I guess this lady is demented enough to actually do it.

Good post!!

In a lot of ways, dogs are superior to humans. They don't need marriages. And, since they don't need marriages, it follows that they don't need divorces, either.

Didn't this happen years ago with the Clintons?

Nah, that was animal to animal all the way.
