TERRI'S FIGHT
(Daily Thread 2 - October 30-31, 2003)
Link back to thread 1 - October 29, 2003

Contained in thread 1:

Summary of Terri's bone scan, transcript from "On the Record" response from Bobby Schindler and Attny. Pat Anderson to Michael Schiavo's appearance on Larry King Live, link to where to search public records for Pinellas County (for a fee), information on Terri's Lights, link to transcript from Larry King Live interview with Michael Schiavo and George Felos, synopsis of radio interview with Michael Schiavo's brother in Pennsylvania, summary of interview with Pat Anderson on Michael Reagan's show, portion of testimony from Schiavo medical malpractice trial, some links to information on the Florida death cult, names and email address for the Florida Supreme Court, information on previous GAL, Richard Pearse, Jr., information on GAL currently being proposed Jay Wolfson and links back to earlier threads on the case. Of course this overview isn't comprehensive, but my main point in this section is to provide easy reference to what could be important information. Also, links to other websites focusing on Terri's fight can be found in thread 1, here.

Thanks to everyone for your contributions and for your dedication to this fight.

.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

FL_Engineer suggested that if you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

Just delete the name in the box and put "All" there or someone you want to respond to.

Thanks, backhoe - appreciate your help. I'm not desperate - anytime will do. However, this is really embarrasing, but, how do I drop you an e-mail? Now, I'm really feeling stupid.

LOL! Next thing you know you'll be wanting to know about moose and cheese and AYBABTU and viking kitties and how to tell if something is hugh or merely series.

I assume by "somebody else's remarks" you mean that you have to hit "post reply" and the name of that poster shows up in the "to" field. That can be modified at will. You can add the names of other posters, as many as you like, by separating the screen names with semi-colons, or you can remove all names by simply highlighting the name in the "to" field and deleting, that way it posts to no one in particular.

Here are a few links you might find helpful. I think we have all had your dilemma in our early FReeping days.

The Schindler's were probably not lying about the bruises. I have tell you, as others here can too, they are very sweet and very trusting. They probably believed whatever explanation Michael gave them. You have to remember too that Michael and Terri lived with them for a while. I think that, for a long time, the Schindler's accepted Michael as a son (and we all know that nobody wants to think negatively about their "son").

Are you practicing in Florida? We seem to be uncovering a "good-ole-boy" network there that is very disturbing. We could sure use your help.

Others can do better than I, but I'll at least TRY to answer, jackibutterfly

Help - This has nothing to do with your remarks, as I need to know how to do something. How do you post without going into someone else's post?

When you hit "Post Reply" you will aanswer directly to that person. Check the window above where you actually type the message. You'll see it as "To: (use semi-colons to seperate multiple recipients)" In the "To" box you can change or add to the person you're replying to.

Also, are there instructions as how to get something copied in a post, like an e-mail, something from the net, another post, etc.

Use the "copy and paste" like an e-mail. Then you must worry about formatting. That i will try to explain when I attempt to answer ---

And, how are italics, underscores, large/small fonts, etc. done?

To seperate paragraphs use < p> (Only without that space before the "p")< p>

Example.

To use italics, do the same, < i>once again, without the blank space, use < /i> to turn off italics.< p>

< u>Underscore< /u> works the same. The "/" turns < font color="Red">OFF< /font> a command.

I hope I'm not getting you too confused!

< b>turns on bold and < /b> turns bold off.

< font size="6">Makes a fairly large font, < /font> turns it off.

HOpe this helps a little, jackibutterfly!

Perhaps the Freeping has to be sanctioned by a local chapter?

Actually, it's more than that. I believe the problem is with other freepers who are taking a different (ignorant) position with regards to Terri. They feel that the Terri case threatens their own "right-to-die" and they are right about that, too. However, they completely misunderstand the origin of the threat to their personal liberties.

It is people like George Felos, Judge Greer and Michael Schiavo who have corrupted the system. These perpetuators of a "forced death culture" present the biggest threat to the goal of minimizing government interference in personal lives and deaths. This case undoubtedly will result in law changes, and unfortunately, it will probably result in greater government oversight, too.

Sadly, it is not the Terri supporters, but those who support the ACLU (and indirectly certain corrupt individuals), that will cause another layer of government oversight to be added.

FACT: The "right-to-die'rs" who have banished us to the religious forums are using the classic dem tactics of labeling and name-calling. They refer to "those hysterical, over emotional, illogical Terri threads", and they resort to rudeness that ridicules people's faith with names like "those pious holier-than-thou" pro-lifers.

FACT: Due to incomplete, agenda-driven research, that falls back on the (recently written) "law", the banishers have minimized the importance of this precedent-setting case.

Let's give credit where credit is due. The admin mod committee and Jim Rob do recognize the trick of labeling and name-calling when the mainstream media uses it to diss Republicans.

Unfortunately, they completely miss it when its used by some of the "old-time" libertarian Freepers to attack any issue that is embraced by Christian conservatives, even if the issue directly relates to an immoral and unacceptable use of government force (a major libertarian issue).

The stated goal of Freerepublic is to get the Dems out of power, everywhere. Supporting the Communist ACLU and casually dismissing those that value human life, by relegating them to the role of "religious whackos", is certainly not the way to accomplish our common mission.

Despite the lack of support from those whom we must give the credit for creating and running such an amazing website, we will prevail.

We will, state by state, community by community, discover the subtle phrases in each state's statutes that allow fortune-hunting spouses and relatives to knock off their "inconveniences".

Fox was the attorney representing Michael in the medical malpractice suit. Nothing he said to reporters can have any real relevance. It's interesting that he still brags that they won 6.8 million dollars.

I dont understand your focus as to why our "justice system" did not investigate the original circumstances surrounding Terri Schiavo's collapse.
They seldom do, in my experience, unless overwhelming and incontrovertable evidence forces them to action. And even then, one must drag them kicking and screaming to prosecution.
Our justice system avoids messy cases, whenever possible.
My ex-husband was murdered by his new wife and her boyfriend.Despite numerous sworn statements from friends, neighbors, supervisors, co-workers,aquaintances, family, and even me, the impartial ex-wife,and a very unusual autopsy, no amount of information was enough to force the "justice system" to actually investigate criminal allegations of murder. They sure strung us all along for three years though. After all, all they had to do was listen to us and file the documentaion in the case closed file.
Anyone with actual experience with the legal "justice system" knows there is little of justice, and less of truth, in the system.
The "justice system" is not a place normal, honorable people are welcomed or even invited.
It is the epitomy of bureaucrats gone insane.
It is, after all, filled with lawyers, who are the least ethical, and most dishonest population as a group, I have encountered in my life.
And this is the same group of people who have twice tried to publically murder Terri Schiavo, under color of law.
If they were under the jurisdiction of the DOD, they would be tried for crimes against humanity.
But since it is just an unimportant disabled citizen, who cares?

Wonder if he worked on a contingency basis? It's not unusual for a lawyer to get 1/3 of an award.
