Left-wing activist/actor Tim Robbins took a crude shot Thursday night at "compassionate conservatives." On CBS's late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, when Robbins was asked to "use the words 'compassionate' and 'conservative' in the same sentence while being neither ironic nor scornful," Robbins came up with "F*** compassionate conservatives," forcing CBS to bleep his first word though it was clear what it was.
The MRC's Brian Boyd caught the exchange in question #4 during the "5 Questions" segment on the October 30 show:
Kilborn: "Use the words 'compassionate' and 'conservative' in the same sentence while being neither ironic nor scornful." Robbins: "Um, eh, that's a tough one. Neither ironic or scornful?" Kilborn: "Yeah." Robbins: "Alright. (Bleep) compassionate conservatives." Kilborn to judges: "Wait was that scornful? Wait. Judges? It was scornful, we can't accept that." Robbins: "But I got to say (bleep)."
A proud moment for the Hollywood Left.

Tim Robbins is a washed up loser.
He's about as significant as dog crap on your shoe.
Annoying and smelly.

Lessee, this is the same "main-stream" media which the lefties say is 'conservative'. What a crock.

Conservatism
is compassionate. Anyone who thinks it's necesary to qualify "conservative" with "comapssionate" is, IMHO, a liberal at heart.
Even worse, Jack Kemp's "bleeding-heart conservatism".

Yes, he's such a peaceful man and shows it time and time again. Didn't he also threaten to beat up a reporter that had a story on Susan Sarandon's mother being a Republican?

Review:
Clint Eastwood directs this slow and tedious film with great performances from Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburne. Mystic River is a frustrating endeavor due to the caliber of talent involved. The muddiness of the script, mostly in terms of dialogue, together with the frequent bouts of over-acting, and the overall slow, meticulous way that the film unfolds make for an often tedious experience that has a few hidden rewards, mostly in the forms of Bacon, Fishburne, and Guiry. ( Jimmy (Sean Penn), Dave (Tim Robbins)) But the real problem with Jimmy is that Penn seems to be forcing the character to emerge. It's perhaps one of the most earnest performances I've seen from this normally stellar actor and it results in the character being less than fulfilling. The same can be said for Tim Robbins' portrayal of Dave. He plays the character as a sad sack, almost withdrawn, borderline mentally retarded individual. He's slow and impassive, supposedly the result of the trauma he suffered as a young child. But again, as with the character of Annabeth, Dave ends up coming across as erratic and confusing. From FilmForce

And CBS wonders why their ratings are dropping. When The Reagans miniseries aires, their ratings should tank. I hope so.

Actor Tim Robbins: "F*** Compassionate Conservatives"
Not how I'd put it, but I can't disagree, nor would a good number of Republicans. I suspect Robbins' emphasis was on "conservatives," though, whereas I'd go heavy on "compassionate."

Kilborn: "Use the words 'compassionate' and 'conservative' in the same sentence while being neither ironic nor scornful." The question itself is scornful. The natural answer would be along the lines of "George Bush is a compassionate conservative". But that is not funny, and would not fit into the type of show that Kilborn hosts. Of course, the answer that Robbins gave is not funny either, but to those with small minds and a sympathetic ear, this is seen as shock-humor.
Kilborn is just as guilty as Robbins here.

Actor Tim Robbins: "F*** Compassionate Conservatives" I thought he was bonking a liberal. Has Susan changed teams?
Oh wait, does this mean he's one o' them "Meterosexuals"?
To: fight_truth_decay
I am proud to consider myself one of President Bush's loyal compassionate conservatives! And I resent being mocked, it's over for kilborn and robbins....I have even officially reduced them to the lower case letters - they are unworthy of bothering to hit the cap button....I would stop watching them on tv, but I did that years ago.

Even TIM ROBBINS' facial features have now changed. His face is no longer a Happy Face.
TIM ROBBINS' face is now a face with a permenant ..SNEER.. on it.
And he was such a nice looking fella once.
And to think...
...it was our "US at the OSCARS" Freeper Demonstration supporting BUSH's bringing Freedom to Iraq as TIM ROBBINS arrived at this year's Academy Awards Show ...that started his downward slide..!!!

I just saw the Will Farrell movie "Old School" and was annoyed that Kilborn is actually in it, trying to act.
The movie was still funny as hell, despite his lame contribution. Plus Kilborn dies in a horrific car accident during the closing credits, so it ends on a happy note.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to say F*** Tim Robbins (aka Mrs. Sarandon). Does this guy actually work? I've never seen him in a movie, and he's only on TV whining.

He was only a borderline "pretty boy" bratpack-ish actor to begin with. The only reason he ever elevated to "star" in the minds of the Hollyweird power brokers is that he's been shacking up as unofficial husband with Susie "the human petrie dish" Sarandon, and God knows how she got to be an icon except through exposing her bosoms willingly in nearly every movie she did early on.

Satanarandon has never impressed me.
That goes for her boobs too.
To: Bikers4Bush; Xenalyte
I just bought the DVD based on praise from my friends.
While he was promoting the movie release, Farrell did a half-hour promo/show for Comedy Central. In the show, he pretends he has left show business and has decided to live permanently in a fraternity house. Then, for the remainder of the show, he gives a tour of his "new home."
The fraternity was full of garbage and broken windows. The brothers were all still sleeping in the middle of the afternoon. There was food in the couch, mold in the fridge, and fungus in the showers.
He filmed it in my old fraternity house, and it still looked exactly like it did when I lived there.

i use to watch Kilborn on The Daily Show on Comedy Central.. the people on the show seemed quite relieved when he left though. Rumor has it (in tabloids and such) that he was a real jerk and everyone there hated him. I haven't watched him since. I still like The Daily Show though even though they sometimes mock things or people I like. I don't mind when they do it though because they mock everyone equally and not just liberals or conservatives.
