Media Missing
If you watch the evening news or spend your day tuned in to the monotony of CNN you will get the impression that all the news from Iraq is absolutely terrible with a protest on every corner and a rifle in every window.
There is enough bad news from Iraq as it is and why it has to be embellished and spun by the media is just further proof that they have an agenda and not one which is very pro American.
No I have not been to Iraq but I hear pretty often from those who are there and theyre wondering why the American media is not reporting any of the progress which is being made. To emphasize my point let me quote from some of them.
As I toured Baghdad for the first time, I saw a city ravaged by war, looting and lawlessness. Or so I thought. What I didnt know then and didnt learn until later, was that most of the damage to the infrastructure was caused by three decades of rule by a tyrant, who used his countys natural wealth not to enhance its power plants and sewage and water systems but to aggrandize himself.
In my four months in Iraq, spent living with, working with and learning from the Iraqi police, Ive seen things that would sicken the worst minds. In our hunt for the Faydayeen Saddam, Saddam Hussein's trained assassins, I watched video after video of interrogations of Iraqis whose lives ended with the detonation of a grenade tied to their neck or stuffed into the shirt pocket of the victim. I watched the living bodies disintegrate at the pull of a pin.
And if thats not enough, theres a tape of Saddam sitting and watching one of his military generals being eaten alive by dobermans because the generals loyalty was in question.
Due to our efforts,40000 Iraqi police are back to work helping to restore law and order and assisting the U.S. led coalition in its hunt for Saddam and his loyalists.
Another soldier writes,Yes many of us will be here for a year. However, the satisfaction comes from seeing the smiles on the childrens faces because they do not have to worry about their parents being arrested for nothing more than their ancestry. I have seen reports in the American press highlighting the Iraqi protests against the troops here in Iraq. I find it humorous that the press doesnt even realize that by covering these protests they are showing one of the biggest benefits of us being here, the right of the Iraqi people to protest without the fear of arrest or death. Right now my outfit is located near the Iranian border. Each day hundreds of Iranians are sneaking across the border, not to attack Americans but to get a taste of freedom.
And heres a little more news you probably wont see in the mainstream media.
A group of Iraqi entrepreneurs have launched a new television channel whose 24 hour broadcasts are to be carried around the world via satellite. Its called I.B.C. and is not affiliated with any one party, group, religion or sect according to their spokesperson Shahla Hassan.
People are returning to Iraq from foreign lands.
In other words all is not doom and gloom in Iraq. We are making progress and we must stay the course until the job is finished.
Pray for our troops.
What do you think?
God Bless America

Man I'm losing favorites left and right. Wht did Carlos have to shoot his mouth off shore?
Santana
I loved Black Magic Woman,
And Oye Como Va.
Soul Sacrifice was cookin,
But now I must say, blah.
Your guitars still enchanting,
Ill hear it never more.
If I controlled the country,
Id show you to the door.
Why is it you cant shut up,
And just be what you are.
Another entertainer,
Who plays a mean guitar.
On foreign soil you say were wrong,
And peace you represent.
To shredders and mass killings,
Iraqi people went.
Not sent there by our soldiers,
But Saddam and his boys.
Humanity you says your gig,
Then stop this stupid noise.
Apologize because youre wrong,
And we will all forgive.
We fight to free Iraqis,
So more of them can live.

*They* experienced such severe chest pains they couldn't hit the "abuse" button? {g}
If *Herb's* jive ranting wasn't censored?

Voted Abs. for Barbour and Tuck. Not really a big fan of anybody running for state-wide office in Ms. The Rep. running for state treasurer in Ms "Tate Reeves" is a total frat clown. Yankhater would love him! I do however like Ernie Fletcher in my new adopted state of Ky. I should have and could have voted by Abs. and on election day in Ky : ) Then maybe I could at least off-set at least one dead voter in La.

Thanks for the update. I have a gut feeling the GOP will win both of the races today and THAT might just propel them to victory in Louisiana in two weeks!

I loved Santana's guitar, even all the newer stuff with vocals by singers from other groups. Can't some of these people just shut up? Didn't they learn anything from The Pixie Twits?
If I was one of these people and really felt I had to say something. I'd say, "We support our troops and pray for peace soon." I hate war. George W. Bush hates war. We have no choice in this case.

I think it's a sickening developement of our times.
I think the Liberal-Socialist's useful idiots took over our entertainment.
I think they've just begun.
I think my pallet of artists grows smaller by the day.
...I think I'm saddened.

BTW. Isn't Santana a follower of L. Ron Hoover and the Church of Appliantology. (they worship toasters or something, I think)

I just heard that Carlos Santana is joining the ever-growing ranks of musical anti-American bashers.
I'm starting to view KaZaa Lite and WinMX as protest vehicles.

Yep.
It's a shame.
But then again, I haven't spent any money on a Santana record since the late 70's.
With one exception. I bought Supernatural because I know the drummer.
