Yes but if you own a home its harder for one to handle the tax increases that are instigated by such bills. Owning a home is quite an expense. Also as was mentioned earlier, such social policies distort the market in a negative sense for both the poor seeking homes and the middle class who do.
Not really sure I agree. Starter homes, especially in today's interest rate range, more than likely cost less in PITI than renting an apartment with the same number of bedrooms. Plus renters get not federal tax deduction.
