But Bucher, who lives/works in a rather bucolic (snicker) County doesn't have too much to fear--it's McCann who will lose the most.

Nancy Northshore decides to do some shopping at Grand Avenue Mall, so she packs her .38 snubby into her purse, hops into her BMW, drives downtown, and parks in the Grand Ave parking structure. Little Rastus P. Wilson, three time rape ex-con, decides to give Nancy Northshore some lovin right there in the parking structure, but lo and behold, Nancy dispatches Rastus to his enternal judgement.

Marvin Pratt, Eugene Kane, former (thank God!) Chief Arthur Jones, and Michael McGee stage nightly candlelight vigils. Not to be left out of the camera, Jesse Jackass and Kweisi Mfume join in the fun. "Justice" is demanded. Cars get turned over, houses get torched, windows get smashed.

Nancy Northshore's attorney notifies the DA's office that, if prosecuted, they will demand a jury trial, and a change of venue.

E. Michael McCann's worst nightmare.

Oh, I forgot one detail.

When E. Michael McCann finally drops all charges against Nancy Northshore of Whitefolks Bay WI because no jury in the country would convict her, the race hustlers and their minions vote him out of office in the next election.

These people disgust me. If we are finally given the right to defend ourselves under the law, these LEOs want to deny us our rights? Unbelievable!

Can't wait till Bucher sends another donation request...

Thanks for the ping.

Interestingly, the Waukesha Sheriff (Trawicki) is VERY supportive of CCW.

I'm sure he's a great guy, but he's probably an exception. I reckon that about only 10% of professional law enforcement are qualified supporters of Shall Issue CCW laws. But that 10% is the exception that basically proves the rule. That leaves the other 90% as essentially hostile.

It's understandable. The patrol sheriff or beat cops that I have had conversations with regarding CCW's are not supportive of them or are downright hostile because they fear for THEIR safety, never mind ours. And the Chiefs of Police and the elected County Sheriffs are, for the most part against shall issue, if not adamantly opposed because it's politically correct.

My opinion is not an indictment of LEO's, but an observation. I am not saying don't trust them, just don't place too much dependence on their support. If we depend on LEO's help to preserve the 2nd. Amendment, it will be like waiting for the French Cavalry to save the Alamo.

"Speaking of multiple personalities, you were friends with Palpatine/One PArticular Harbour..."

I'm not sure what happened with them...but it appears LeRoy's various personalities have rejoined.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR IN NAPERVILLE

MYTHS cloud self-defense

Ms. Sharon Heath article of 11.5.2003 listed many myths and I checked out her statistics and they did not square with FBI, DOJ reporting supporting her belief in “Lie with statistics”. The article sounded more like the following sound bits.

The availability of guns causes crime. Citizens are too incompetent to use guns for protection. Gun Control reduces crime. Gun buyback programs get guns off the streets. Only government and police should have guns. Guns are not a good deterrent to crime. Guns are often used to commit violent crimes. Private ownership of guns is not effective in preventing crime. Guns are not effective in preventing crime against women. You are more likely to be injured or killed using a gun for self-defense. Concealed carry laws increase crimes. Police are against concealed carrying by citizens. Countries with strict gun control have lower crime rates. Britain and Japan has strict gun control and low crime rate. The police are our protection, and people don’t need guns.

MYTH, Every statement above is a myth, a false statement as reported by the DOJ, FBI, and other learned scholars around the world all disagreeing with Ms Heath. The reference to England is a half-truth and is incorrect. Both (1st) Australia (4.1%) and (2nd) England (3.6%) have virtually banned gun ownership, yet have the highest rates of robbery, sexual assault, murder, and assault with force, topping the list of 17 industrialized nations with the United States (12th) at (1.9%). I am not a woman but would suggest that sexual assault is an extreme assault with force.

Washington DC, New York and Chicago have banned honest citizens from owning firearms. Chicago has the highest murder rate in the nation. The issue is not murder, the issue is the citizens ability to exercise bible given self-defense rights with tools equal to the assailant. 24,000 firearm laws have not solved the criminal propensity to commit crime. The Second Amendment is not about duck hunting.

Ms. Heath, the real issue is you belief that citizen should be disarmed when facing 4 million new felons on probation, (repeat offenders). Prisons do not rehabilitate only incarcerates for a period of time and release back into our neighborhoods. Naperville residents currently live in a bubble of safety. Millions of Illinois citizens would like that same right to self-defense as 45 other states allow, why not IL?

For the debate, the number of handguns (FBI) in the USA has increased from 151 million in 1972 to 322 million in 1994, with no change in the homicide rate of from 1972 to 1994 or (4.0) per 100,000 population. For the record, 93.2% of 22,587 Chief of Police and Sheriffs in the USA say that law-abiding citizens should be able to purchase a firearm for sport or self-defense. 68.2% of this same group stated concealed handgun permits would reduce rates of violent crime. I think that readers trust the FBI and 22,587 Chief of Police law enforcement leaders, than a officer of the court in the Chicago States Attorney office known for its Chicago gun grabbing policy?

Not all that bad a nightmare.

1) Urban renewal is accomplished through the burning.
2) All the usual suspects (Jackson, Sharpton, Kerry, Hillary) are in Milwaukee--not elsewhere, like in Waukesha County.
3) McCann resigns rather than tries the case.
4) Rastus meets the worms.

322 million handguns and the present population is 292 million. 1.1 handguns/person.

Where's the Onslaught of Violence? The Zillions of dead Chilrlrens? The LEO bodies stacked to the sky?

"I reckon that about only 10% of professional law enforcement are qualified supporters of Shall Issue CCW laws."

It's not that way here in most of WI. In the cities chiefs staff their force with folks of the appropriate attitude. The chiefs themselves were chosen that way. In the other areas the cops are just regular citizens doing their job and their friends are the folks that live around there. That connection to the real world is what causes them to side with their friends. When anyone gets and remains nervous when their friends and neigbors have guns available, there is something wrong with them.

Police CHIEFS are not law officers. They are politicians.

I know of a few nice places in Waukesha County.

All we need is a DA with brainsforbrains instead of s(*& forbrains.

It's not that way here in most of WI.

I wish I could remark that well about where I live on the edge of the LA area. It's rare to get to know a policeman here in any way other than professional. The cop's I know by name are ones I know and know me at the shooting range. The majority of rural area LEO's understand that those who live in remote areas needs their own tools for self defense. City-bred cops have a different view and it shows in their gun control politics. Some city cops have never even held a gun until they get to the police academy. Sad.

. When anyone gets and remains nervous when their friends and neighbors have guns available, there is something wrong with them.

I agree. It's the area here and the times. Most city cops don't hunt, so they don't know any civilians that are well trained in handling guns. Some of the cops are such poor shots at the range where I shoot, that I wouldn't want to ride with them as their partner. Also, the worse shot they are, the more they are against CCW's

The urban areas are really quite different in attitude than the rural. Unfortunately those urban areas are "Blue States". They should all be Red, White and Blue.

Dont bother checking the stats of EVERY other state that has decided not to interfear in the God given right to self and family protection aka concealed carry

Violent crime rates go down...when decent people carry guns...criminals are fearfull when their potential victims carry handguns...

And I kinda figured the cops ought to think that criminals too scared to committ violent crimes was a actually.....

A GOOD THING..

Cops are scared of EVERYBODY, and if you're armed, they are even more jittery. I don't blame them, in a way--however, it would be useful if they would actually THINK about this.
