Terri's Fight - (Daily Thread/Updates) November 8 -10

TERRI'S FIGHT
(Thread 6 - November 8-10, 2003)
(Link back to thread 5 - Nov. 5-7)

.

Contained in Thread 4:

Link to article on Michael Schiavo from hometown newspaper, information on death by starvation and dehydration, information on hospice eligibility and hospice and medicare/medicaid fraud, e-mail address for Judge Greer, transcript of Larry King Live interview with Michael Schiavo and George Felos, Terri's address at the hospice and the address for the foundation, to send cards for Terri's birthday (December 3), transcript of O'Reilly interview with Kate Adamson, e-mail addresses for Florida legislature, transcript of Abrams Report interview with George Felos and Pam Anderson, transcription of Terri's bone scan, legalese for dummies version of Gov. Bush's motion to dismiss Sciavo's suit against the Constitutionality of Terri's Law, link to FatherOfLiberty's research on HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy), links to ACLJ involvement in Schiavo case and Father Rob Johansen's daily update.

There are four other relevant posts that I want to highlight here in case anyone missed them or didn't get pinged. These are a general Terri thread troll alert, an especially thoughtful post about the sincere effort that FReepers are making in Terri's behalf, the Father's Love Letter , and remarks made by Jim Robinson on this issue and reposted here by lonevoice.

.

Click on pic for Terri's website

.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

There was a tremendous amount of information posted on the previous thread. For anyone who hasn't been following the daily threads, links to relevant posts and information from the previous thread are contained in the body of the present one. I have found that very helpful in trying to find something later. You people are doing a spectacular job of getting information out and also in helping to keep all of us updated here. What a great joint effort. This fight, to me, illustrates beautifully what Free Republic is about and what it means to be a FReeper. Way to go FRiends. Keep up the good work!

Have you heard this clip from Glenn Beck? Steve Schiavo is the caller.

GB: Do we, in America, starve handicap people to death?

SS: Yes, if that's what the court calls for.

Isn't this something. Greer would not set aside his decision with new testimony because a whole year went by, however another Judge jumped in and resumed the feeding, he didnt' care at all about the year having gone by. Greer has been a horrible horrible judge.

Hopefully Judge Greer is feeling a bit naked right now now that the Florida Legislature, the Govenor of Florida AND the President of the YouNighted States of America all are trampling on his "turf" in disagreement with his rulings.

Perhaps with the big guns second guessing him he is being more fair towards the Schindlers becasue he knows now he is being watched. I think this is why he is permitting the new guardianship hearing to move forward and NOT be dismissed.

Well, now you are informed. Many of the "trolls" on our forum have not bothered to research the whole story. Even Peter, Dan, Tom, and Katie seem ignorant about all this. Maybe when the "trolls" do a little work they will understand and decide that defending Schiavo is not worth their effort. But then again the "trolls" are proud, stubborn people who believe in the false "right-to-die."

So do I. Michael is driving a Mecedes? Out here in the Hinterlands nurses don't make that much money to be driving Mecedes'.

I thought of a legal way Michale could be getting money back out of Terri's Trust Fund.

As Sweetliberty said, "Terri is using her own money to kill her slelf, and it is not costing us anyhting."

This was one of Sweetliberty's more shall we say 'testy' moments. Actually Michael has court permission to spend Terri's $700,000 settlement money on attornesy fees ergo George Felos.

What if Geaorge is paying Michael? Say george is writing a book and he is paying Michael Schiavo as a source. In this way Michael gets the money out of terri's account, over to Felos, adn Felos funnels some back to Michael.

Almost eveyone on this web site has always said Michael wanting to kill Terri is about 3 things, the money, the money and THE MONEY.

I hope Terri's attorney gets a chance to ask Michael if he is receivng any money from George Felos, or anyone associated with George Felos.

I would imagine that even if the attorney gets a chance to ask Michael if he's getting any money from Felos, he would lie about it if he was. There's no way that he'd tell the truth about that.

(1)... A doctor hired by Michael Schiavo said Terri Schiavo's brain is destroyed and she hears, feels and sees nothing.

(2)`I don't think there are any words to can express the outrage that he feels and the pain in the heart that he feels'' because his wife will now continue to suffer, Felos said.

Well, now, George, I'm confused. Your hired doctor testified that Terri can't hear, feel and see anything. So she cannot experience pain and suffering. Was he lying? Or is it you who's lying now about Terri "continu[ing] to suffer" because you failed to kill her?

(from yesterday)
>>I love reading these documents, and find Connors' arguments most compelling. He has backed Felos into a corner very neatly.

I tivo'ed Greta. She gave Terri MUCH TOO LITTLE time,
but at least she DID start out with Jeb's lawyer - Connors!
He did a nice job.

Then a panel discussed it briefly... And G. ALRED of all people,
even came out FOR Terri! I will transcript it soon.

I also see that Amy Roebock (sp?) was substituting for
Olberman on the COUNTDOWN show, and they covered Terri
for just ONE MINUTE at :18 past the hour. She read seven sentences covering the basic legal news on this subject,
but it shows they are at least aware of her.

(included an odd video showing model husband Michael
wheeling Terri out into the sun in her wheelchair,
up to a scenic overlook, then DOTING over her, and POINTING out to Terri the beautiful view! )

[If I was the suspicious type, I'd say Felos provided that
to MSNBC TODAY to refute yesterday's claims on FNC that
Michael won't let her go outside in a wheelchair]

nothing on Hardball, H&C, or O'Reilly...

My machine hasn't taped scarborough or abrahms yet but will
do so in the wee hours.

Let's organize an event that the media will want to cover ,and put it out there. We are celebrationg the LIFE of Terri Schindler. Any one who has photos of a young Terri , plese contact me.. perhaps we could put a presentation together and apeal to Hannity to help us get this all on his program.

Oh this sounds absolutely marvelous. I live in Los Angeles so I can only donate some $$ and make phone calls and emails to help. But I want to do anything I can. Has anyone contacted or thought to contact Joni and Friends about donating a wheelchair?? I read today in Focus on the Family that her organization donated over 14,000 wheelchairs last year. I might be able to contact her organization??

Oh, yea! And EVERY time MS or FELOS 'says' there is NO
INSURANCE POLICY on Terri, remember they are not under oath
when they say so. I don't believe it for one second!

Why... even TERRI was employed at an INSURANCE company!
[So she probably got a VERY GOOD deal on a whole life policy!]

And even if she did NOT, I wouldn't put it past MS & Jodi
to back-date a policy in Terri's name somehow with this company!
As DIRECTOR of this agency, MS would certainly know HOW to do this!

MORE THINGS THAT NEED INVESTIGATION, Attention Governor BUSH!!!

Journalist BARF/Troll Alert! Jeb imposes personal belief

Schiavo action disrespects democracy, family

Guest opinion: Gema Hernandez
Published by news-press.com on November 8, 2003

Many articles have been published about Terri Schiavo and Gov. Jeb Bush’s intervention in preventing an individual her right to die with dignity, but none of the articles has addressed a more troubling situation for our state and for our nation: that of imposing a personal belief on all the citizens of the state.

Molding public policy or ignoring established public policies for the sake of a personal belief is not the American way. This is troubling because our country just fought a war for the sake of democracy, and in a democratic system the needs of the many supercede the need of the one, particularly if that one is a governor elected to represent the wishes and desires of many people. Jeb’s actions not only blur the separation of church dogma and state, but also fuse the three branches of government into one, the executive branch eliminating the checks and balances established by our Constitution and weakening our already wounded judicial process.

The decision to extend the dying process is incomprehensible because it goes against the Republican party’s basic core values: less government interference, more personal responsibility and support of family values.

Now government is interfering more and more in personal and private decisions to a point that it is up to the government and not the family or the individual to decide when a person like Terri should live or die. His decision has now created another ward of the state in an institutional care situation rather than in a community care situation like he said he favors. This decision has also removed all financial responsibility from the family, placing the financial cost in the hands of the state and creating a third contradiction. Most importantly, it redefines what constitutes a family by negating the rights of the husband who, with the wife, forms the essence of the American nuclear family.

Once a man and a woman get married, in the words of the church, the IRS and all civil institutions, a family is formed, “for this man this woman will abandon her parents.” Therefore, Jeb’s actions in support of the parents bring new meaning of what constitutes a family, and this meaning excludes husbands or wives in favor of parents. Jeb’s actions against the wishes of the husband and the courts once again contradict his preaching, presenting a fourth contradiction between actions and words in the lives of politicians.

Yes, the dangers of his actions go beyond the obvious. Privacy rights are becoming an endangered species and our right to die with dignity is the first casualty.

Dr. Gema G Hernandez is former secretary of the department of elder affairs.
She lives at Fort Myers Beach.

That's not the settlement I was asking about. There was an award of 1.3 million-750,000 for rehab, 300,000 for HINO.

There was another suit that was settled out of court for an "undisclosed amount". I'm wondering what he did with that money.

(long string of expletives deleted) GigaBarf alert.

It figures the Death Brigade would also infiltrate the Dept. of Elder Affairs. I'd place bets that they're in Child Protective Services, too.

Before this is over with - and for safety's and survival's sake - every relevant hospital, nursing home, HMO and government agency will have to be investigated for Death Culture connections.

Still looking for some help to get this message to someone at Terri's foundation who can follow-up on it.

Radio host, George Noory, wants to do a 1-hour interview with Dr. William Hammesfahr, the neurologist who has testified on Terri's behalf. Noory's show is broadcast on 480 stations in the overnight slot to an estimated 10 million listeners. He is very sympathetic to Terri's fight. He interviewed Bobby Schindler for about 10 minutes the day after Terri's feeding tube was restored.

This message was put out a few days ago with a request that anyone who can relay info to someone that can act on it in the Schindler's behalf, please freepmail me for a forward of Noory's email stating his wish to interview Dr. Hammesfahr that includes contact info for the show's producer.

I've already left an email with terrisfight.org using the "media request" link but there has been no response. Someone posted an email from the foundation here this morning (on the previous Terri's daily thread) stating that they'd like help with more media exposure.
