Frist has certainly made the right decision here. And all Americans should applaud it. Great damage was in process in the very Senatorial committee charged to assist our nation maintain security. We really do need to know who wrote this memo. And anyone who condemns the process whereby this type thinking was brought to light is actually saying they support this way of thinking (politics over security, politics over integrity).

Seems like Frist grew a pair. Now all he has to do next Wednesday is keep the Senate in session all night long. Maybe Schumer, Kenndy, 97 et. al. will read the Constitution for the first time...at o-dark-thiry.

Wow. Now this is a real surprise.

I hope Frist and the other Republicans have the spine, the cohones, to see this through to the end. The end would have to include:

1. Whatever "aide" wrote this is fired.

2. Rockefeller at the least is thrown off the committee. Ideally he should resign as a Senator, but that takes morals and values.

3. Screw #2. All these Democrats should be thrown off the committee immediately and replaced.

4. At the least, Rockefeller should be forced to disavow this memo, be seriously reprimanded on the Senate floor AND found guilty of ethics violations.

5. Sedition proceedings should be started immediately on all Democrats and ALL their aides.

If Rockerfeller or another Dem on the committee takes the fall and resigns, wonder who would be available to replace that fallen Dem?

Surely amongst all those Dems, one brave soul would avail herself and accept the appointment by acclimation--to save the Committee, the Party, the Nation, Western Civilization, the world and the planets beyond. Oh who, oh who would be such an heroic statesmanwoman? Who, oh who, would benefit from such a Committee position?

My question for this whole matter -- and I think it must be considered and the Dims called on the carpet:

If this had been a Republican leak and a Republican staff worker the dims would be screaming for the resignation of both.

Look at what happened to Trent Lott on a simple linguistic goof.

What's good for the goose (Republicans) is good for the gander (dims).

We need to push this point voiciferously! Call, fax or email your Senator!

Senators by state.

This is surprising. The story seemed to be fading with no traction, and the Repubs were playing kiss-and-makeup at first. I figured they'd keep it in their pocket to block any future independent investigation, but I didn't expect they'd make a big show of the memo like this.

I wonder what changed their minds?

Oh, and why are the Dems assuming the memo was stolen? As far as I've heard Hannity has been mum on the source to the extent it could have been a Dem staffer. Is there evidence otherwise?

Right, exposing attempted murder - which would have been the ultimate result of their actions - is always viewed as just as bad as the attempted murder itself. I sure am glad he pointed that out as we might have missed it in all the outrage over dim indifference to the future of our brave military or even our country.

Well, good for Frist! About time. Of course, the slimey little weasels are no doubt meeting anyway, although not officially. I wish we would just throw every one of them out on their ears and start all over. There are at least a few democRATs in public office that should be tried for treason. My personal opinion is that there are more than a few.

Ah yes, there are always possibilities, some good and some just plain EEEVILL..

But, better to try and force this issue than not to do anything because of possibilities. Never know what is going to happen but to not take action because of possible futures is, well.........I guess what Republicans have been doing in the Senate for years.

Great!!! A spine *and* other necessary anatomical features!!

Note this miserable excuse by the Dems:

Nevada Sen. Harry Reid complained on the Senate floor that the memo had been "pilfered" by Republicans then leaked to the media, saying that act was just as offensive as anything revealed by the controversial document.

That's tantamount to saying that "outing" a criminal is just as bad if not worse than the original criminal act. Doublespeak and lies. The liberal/leftist language in a nutshell.

AND Rockefeller didn't mind using our tax money to play games with the security of our military and of our country. He is not fit to receive one more tax penny from us. If Rockefeller had any integrity at all, he would resign from the Senate. He should be forced to return any salary he accepted while serving on the Senate Intelligence Committee. Rockefeller is not a loyal statesman for the U.S. If any of the other Democrats on the committee were complicit in these plans to sabotage the nation, they should resign also.

"the democrat's partisan votership will look only to the diversion and ignore the heinous anti-american sedition of the intended memo purpose"

That's because a great many of them don't see sedition as a bad thing. How can we expect them to be outraged by something they are in agreement with.

Though retiring Georgia Democratic Sen. Zell Miller has called the memo, first leaked to radio host Sean Hannity on Tuesday, "perhaps treasonous,"

Zell is the only one (to my knowledge) who's had the guts to use the appropriate language here, but Frist's action sure is a pleasant surprise. Frankly, I didn't think he had it in him.

Okay......I was a tiny tot during Watergate and frankly don't remember any of it except that my afternoon cartoons weren't on, but I just read an account of the whole thing from the perspective of the special prosecutor, Jaworski's, grandson in Texas Monthly magazine.

Am I just stupid, or does this whole democrat memo thing not measure up to the violations discussed in the Jaworski story? I kind of think it does, only instead of the sanctity of the Presidency, it's the safety and national security of the American people.....

Nevada Sen. Harry Reid complained on the Senate floor that the memo had been "pilfered" by Republicans then leaked to the media, saying that act was just as offensive as anything revealed by the controversial document.

"Pilfered"?.....I don't think so. The Republicans did not seek out this memo. Someone with close ties to the committee, who apparently saw this dispicable Rat plot for what it is, put the good of their country above the good of the Democratic party, and came forward with this memo. The Republicans now have to turn up the heat, making sure the people of this country know about this memo, and what the implications are for national security. They have to blast the Dems 24/7 in the media the way the Rats did with Trent Lott after Strom Thurmond's birthday celebration. Unlike Lott's innocent, off the cuff remark, this is a calculated, closely coordinated Rat plot to undermine our efforts in Iraq, and our national security, for the purpose of political gain. The Republicans need to do everything possible to see to it that the American people are made aware of the true significance of the Dem's actions.

The democrats are trying to spin this, so this is what we'll all hear over the next few days:

A. The republicans caused this, because they were trying to protect the Presdient from any probes or hearings on "The President Lied About WMD".
B. The democrats simply wanted to get to the bottom of why we went to war over WMD and now, however, cannot find them.
C. The democrats simply want to know "What did the President know, and when did he know it?"
D. This is not partisan on the democrats part, but by the republicans and the administration.
E. The eeeevvvviiiillll republicans did far worse to the BELOVED President Clinton, so why should the republicans be outraged?
F. It's just politics. Nothing new under the sun. Yawn...
G. The republicans are making a mountain out of a molehill in order to take the focus off Bush's failed Iraqi war/quagmire.
H. The republicans stole this memo and violated some secrecy law somewhere.

Expect to see the media carry these talking points over the next few days, as the shutdown of the Senate Intelligence Committee can't be ignored. What we conservatives need to do is pre-emptively start knocking down these talking points NOW!
