Al Gore has charged that the Bush administration is attempting to cover-up the 9/11 investigation by dismissing the Senate Intelligence Committee.
In a speech sponsored by the Communist Group Moveon.org, Gore dismissed the partisan Democrat memo advising the committee to use intelligence information for political purposes as "trivial", and accused Bush of over-reaching in his authority, in much the same way as Richard Nixon did when he fired his Chief Investigator during the Watergate scandal.
It was reported here that Senator Frist disbanded the Senate Intellignce Committee after the partisan memo revealed it would be unable to carry out its work in a bipartisan manner.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has temporarily disbanded the Senate Intelligence Committee until committee Democrats reveal the identity of the author of a memo outlining a their plan to politicize intelligence data in a bid undermine President Bush's reelection.I keep searching, but I have failed to find G.W.'s name mentioned in the sentence above.

Ummmmmm........Mr. Gore, did you miss the part in the Constitution about separation of powers?
When did George W. Bush become a Senator with authority to suspend any Senate committee?

The word you want is "scum." S-C-U-M. Al Gore is scum. Not pond scum, mind you. Pond scum has a purpose in nature. Al Gore doesn't.

Well, it is a pretty audacious move.
High stakes poker with an ever-growing pot. Bush calls the dems and raises the bet.
Gore sweats and folds.

Accurate that Gore is a louse, that this is reprehensible. Inaccurate that move on is a "communist group." As inaccurate as anything the left says about the right and undermines the power of the posting.

Democrats just don't get it. Since 2000 and particularly 9/11, they've just gone out of their minds.
It's no wonder why people like Zell Miller can't support them.

Things are becoming clearer this morning. Al Gore might be part of the devious plan to get the Republicans. It doesn't matter that Bush had nothing to do with disbanding the committee. All that counts are sound bites. Now that Al said it, everyone in the media and in politics can echo the line.

All Frist has to say, to my mind, is that since the Democrats refuse to conduct a serious investigation - as evidenced by their recent memo on how to use intelligence information as a partisan tool, we cannot afford to put America's security at risk just so the Democrat party has material for attack ads come 2004.
Seriously, that memo is far more damning then the Democrats seem to understand. The American people will not stand for such an outrageous use of America's intelligence resources. Forget Rockfeller's aide who wrote it stepping down - I'd call on the Senate to censor him and ask for his resignation.
To: nwrep
Since when do respectable Democrats give speeches to communist organizations? What's the MATTER with those people?

"cpusa.org endorses moveon.org "
Thanks for clarifying this; cpusa.org DID have a blue "hard" link to moveon on its website, but removed it. Now, they have a request for financial help on the website.
I WOULD like to see the link from C-span, as quoted in the article:
