I hope she does. She does even worse in polls head to head against Bush than Dean or Clark do.

Her odds of actually winning nationally against a single opponent are nil. The only way I'd worry is if there were a Buchanan-type to split the Republican vote, but even then, no, I don't think she could win.

Bring on the Bitch! We're going to have to dance this dance sooner or later, bring her on!, while she still thinks she controls destiny. That'll make her defeat, and all that prophecy she/he imagine accompany her/them, the more painstakenly dramatic.

Hillary would only come in if the polls indicated that she'd have a good to excellent chance of not only winning the Demo. nomination, but beating Bush. If the economy's still in the tank and Iraq has devolved into civil war come Spring, then maybe. Otherwise, she'll just let the current crop fight it out for the nomination, clearing the way for her mostly-uncontested nomination in '08 after the Democrats lose to Bush (43) in '04.

She's too late for Iowa and probably too late for New Hampshire. But of course she's Hillary ...

So, we could reschedule all the state primaries to dates that she suggests. Rules don't matter.

There's a direct wire from hildabeast's brain to the New York Daily News. They would NEVER print an article like this without clearing it with the boss.

I've also been saying for some time that she'll run in 2004. She has no choice. She's getting older. She risks losing control of the DNC. She risks falling out of fashion as a celebrity. She can't afford to wait 5 more years.

It will be tough for her to run against Bush, but I wouldn't count her out. She is absolutely ruthless. She controls the party, the press, and a lot of world leaders. She has pots of money and blackmail materials on every important person in the country. She is very dangerous.

Hillary could slip in as the VP candidate in a no-lose situation. She could stil run in '08 if they lose in '04. If they win, well, accidents do happen.

She very well could slip in as the Pres candidate in the middle of the rat convention. She could walk right in and assume what she believes to be her birthright, and the entire pack of rats nationwide, nay, worldwide would scurry to battle at ther side. It would be the perfect rat storm with the schools, the media, entertainment, everyone coming to her side, building into a tremendous crescendo the likes of which the world has never seen. She would have three months of constant adulation in every medium imaginable, with simultaneous multiple dirty tricks being sprung on W. She could make it a real horse race, but, in the end, the nag would lose.

Dean supporters are post-Clinton Democrats. They supported Clinton in the past because they did not want a sitting Democratic President ousted by what they felt was a "dirty GOP legal trick". It does not mean they were not disgusted by what the Clintons did to their party. If Sen Clinton steps in and attempts to derail Dean, she will lose in 2004 because these Dean supporters would sit at home on election day.

You misunderstand the rats. They are motivated by their hatred of Republicans. They will vote for anyone they think could defeat W.

Sources close to the New York senator and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have made it clear that they think the dovish Dean would be ruinous for the Democratic Party. Those concerns were factors in Bill Clinton's behind-the-scenes urging of retired Gen. Wesley Clark to throw his hat in.

Still want Backstabbin' Bubba in your administration, Howie?

I agree with everything you said, including what the nature of the "campaign" would be like.

"but, in the end, the nag would lose."

Which was the only point I was trying to make :)

The Beast will not declare until the 'Rat Convention when the succubus will mythically rise with the media in full swoon. Dangerous times ahead.

Could you imagine the media, if she did become the VP, and the President didn't meet her friend, R. Ken Side? They would run to her for all of the answers. Whoever was President would constantly be in her ample shadow.
