Actually, we haven't yet heard what General Jackson might have had to say to the idea of his old war buddy General Clark achieving the American presidency. I doubt that General Jackson would say anything.

Well, we know he won't likely respond unless asked. So I pitched the idea to my editor, and we'll see whether he thinks that the possibility of a reply is worth an overseas phone call or two.
You're probably correct. But I think it's worth checking out.
But I figure if I reach his Chief of Staff, Colonel Bubbles, I've got the number for the wrong Michael Jackson.

With all due respect, Hillary can't go to the New Jersey Surpreme Court to get on the ballot.
Yeah, well, don't forget, those NJ judges were appointed by a Republican governor!
Imaging what a Clinton appointed Federal judge can do!

She is playing it brilliantly. She is pretending to fulfill the commitment to serve out 6 years in the Senate. She is not having to spend any money. None of the other candidates are saying bad things about her that can be used as a soundbite.

Someone did line up high crime statistics and the blue counties and yes, there was a correlation.
The DNC screamed like mad about the comparison and came up with their own lame comparison about the red counties.
Anyone got some links to those threads from late 2000?

Nah. I'll let Gray Davis and Al Gore imagine.

Doug, she has to go the primary route. There is noway a Democratic Convention will be stampeded into drafting a compromise candidate especially if that candidate has not participated in the primaries.
What I believe is far more likely is, she will avoid the primaries (why risk losing a series of primary elections if the goal in 2004 is not the presidency or if you cannot guarantee you will win them), she will campaign behind the scenes (is already doing so) for the VP slot, she will accept the VP nomination. The ticket of Candidate X and Hillary will be slaughtered in the national election. She will play the role of the good soldier who fought the hard fight for the party. Her goal in 2004 is to establish herself as the parties post election figurehead. A very doable goal. Winning in 2004 is just not possible and she will not roll the dice on anything that defies the odds.

Money isn't the issue. Dean is receiving funds at such a record breaking pace he has announced he will forego matching funds. McAwful can do nothing to stop Dean's funds. Hillary cannot win delegates in the numbers required by standing safely on the sidelines while Dean spends millions pursuing them.
Sorry Doug, it comes down to Hillary entering the primaries. She won't do it because she will loss quite a number of them along with her most treasured, New York produced aura of political invincibility. Hillary is going for the VP slot, if she is going for anything all.

At first, I had trouble differentiating retired General Wesley Clark from former Attorney General Ramsey Clark. Then, when I finally settled the diff in my own mind, Wesley is narrowing the gap in philosophy between himself and Ramsey.

General Wesley K. Clark, US Army

STOP!! right there!
In the first place, this "guy" is NOT a REAL GENERAL.
He is an appendage that was removed from Bill Clinton's ass during said socialist emperor's reign of terror over the United States military (approximately EIGHT LONG YEARS).
This GENERAL PAIN IN THE ASS was nothing more than an instrument in the hands of Bill Clinton and the Democratic Party to impliment SOCIAL ENGINEERING beginning on the "captured" audience of our military.
Their plan didn't work then, and if anybody knows squat about our military, General Pain Clark, Bill Clinton, or the Democraps, they know this much.
Who is Genral Clark?
This is the very sam SOB who sat silent during the (attempted) raping, stealing, and plundering of our U.S. Servicemen and Women's ABSENTEE BALLOT RIGHT TO VOTE!!
The Military Have A VOTE!?? I Diddunt Know Dat!!

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK PROVIDED JANET RENO TANKS TO BURN BRANCH DAVIDIANSCLARK GLADLY HAD CLINTON AND ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO SUSPEND THE LAWS PROHIBITING THE USE OF THE MILITARY FOR CIVILIAN PURPOSES.
IT WORKED ! - JUST ASK THE NEXT OF KIN OF THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN THAT BURNED TO DEATH DURING THE STORMING OF THE BRANCH DAVIDIAN COMPOUND.

Just as was predicted, Clark has turned out to be nothing but a flash in the pan.
He's finished.
