An American Soldier by Toby Keith
Shock 'N Ya'll ^ | 2003 Tokeco Tunes, Wacissa River Music | Toby Keith & Chuck Cannon

Toby's latest album is "Shock 'N Ya'll" and he has a wonderful song, from the point of view of our soldiers past and present. I offer it here in honor of our veterans.

I'm just trying to be a father
Raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother
Everything to everyone
Up and at 'em, bright and early
I'm all business in my suit
Yeah, I'm dressed up for success, from my head down to my boots
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway
Providing for our future's my responsibility

Yeah, I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekend's been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays
And sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core

And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh, and I don't want to die for you
But if dyin's asked of me
I'll beat that cross with honor
'Cause freedom don't come free

I'm an American soldier, an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight
American soldier, I'm an American soldier

Yeah, an American soldier, an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line, so sleep in peace tonght

American soldier, I'm an American
An American
An American soldier

God bless all of you who have served, are serving, and will serve.

You are the difference between freedom and tyranny.

Good song, wondering how long it'll be before one of the dixie skanks says something derogatory about it.

Thanks to all our veterans.

And let's not forget Daryl Worley's great tune, "Have You Forgotten?"

I thank God everyday that there are good American men willing to do violence on my behalf in order to protect our freedoms. God bless and protect them all.

Toby Keith is connecting with much of conservative America, and I don't believe it is manufactured. He may just be one of the few examples of our popular culture that hasn't gone off the looney left wing.

Toby Keith rules! He's actually getting quite popular here, this week his song 'I love this bar' is number one on our country channel. I quite like his song with Willie.

Here is a good review of Charlie Daniels, another great Conservative and Patriotic American.
