Do black people really identify with this wacked out nonsense?

A large percentage of blacks do. Given the history of black people in America, it's only natural, and frankly practical, for black people to be a little paranoid. A little paranoia can keep you alive if you are a target of persecution.

The problem is that the battle for civil rights is, for all practical purposes, over, and the good guys won. That victory presents an dilemna for the democrats, and asundry civil rights industry leaders. In order to garner the black vote block, they have to continually stir up the fears of black people, continuing to fight a war that no longer rages.

The professional rabble rousers are, of course, threatened by black people who insist on thinking for themselves, rather than huddling together for protection against the man. That's why they attack them so viciously.

NAACP'S JULIAN BOND: Ignorant History Professor Who Also Owes Jews an Apology

My goodness, Julian Bond, did you ever put your foot in your mouth. What an embarrassment you are to the history department at the University of Virginia. Will your students mock you?

Bond is the holder of twenty-one honorary degrees, he is a Distinguished Professor at American University in Washington, DC, and a Professor in history at the University of Virginia.

Starting in 1965, he was elected to four terms in the Georgia House of Representatives and then six terms in the state's Senate.

For the first two years, the state house refused to seat him. The U.S. Supreme Court eventually ruled Bond must be seated.

So, here we have an educated man, the head of the NAACP, a veteran Georgia legislator, someone who ran for Congress, and a U.S. history professor. You would think this man would know something about the line of succession to the presidency, at least the first few heartbeats.

Here we go from a television interview:

BLITZER: We'll be watching that, but I want to bring back Julian Bond now.

And I want to read to you, Julian Bond, an excerpt from an editorial that appeared Friday in the Wall Street Journal. It said this: "It's also an unfortunate fact of politics that Republicans are up against a double standard on matters of race. Jesse Jackson can utter an anti-Semitic slur, "Hymie-town," but somehow still claim the moral authority to lecture Mr. Lott. Senator Robert Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and the only senator of either party to vote against both African-American nominees to the Supreme Court, is exalted as a Democratic eminence gris."

What do you say about that?

BOND: I say, you know, when somebody issues anti-Semitic or bigoted statements of any kind, we need to be loud and clear in our condemnation.

But unlike Jesse Jackson, and unlike Senator Byrd, Senator Lott is two or three heartbeats away from the presidency, and he is the visible public spokesman of the Republican Party in the Senate of the United States.

And those 51 senators have to ask themselves, do they want to be counted on as supporting the kind of bigotry that Senator Lott has stood for all of his adult life, not just in this statement of last week, but as long ago as 1963 when he was in college, and in almost every year from that time until this?

This almost canine-like affection for this white supremacist group, I mean, that just defies any interpretation or any kind of explanation. It's beyond belief that he would persist in it over a period of years...

BLITZER: All right.

BOND: ... and then try to dodge it and say he didn't know anything about it.

BLITZER: Go ahead, Senator Specter.

SPECTER: Well, first of all, Senator Lott's not two or three heartbeats away from the presidency. After the vice president, it's the speaker of the House, and it's the president pro tempore. Today Senator Robert Byrd is president pro tempore of the United States Senate. He is really in line there.

How amazing is that? Perhaps Robert KKK Byrd should have Julian Bond very worried. Why wasn't he? Because he is a DemocRAT?

And, Julian, let's talk about anti-semitic statements, shall we? The beauty of the Internet is that we can pull public records. You went back 40 years for Trent Lott, we will go about have that time back for you. Do you remember this or do you have convenient amnesia?

When Andrew Young was railroaded by the ADL (among Jewish others) out of the United Nations in 1979, the civil rights leadership actually got upset with the Jews. Julian Bond was their spokesperson and Bond himself, read their statement:
"...it is a fact that within the past 20 years some Jewish organizations and intellectuals who were previously identified with the aspirations of Black Americans...became apologists for the racial status quo....Powerful organizations within the Jewish community opposed the interest of the Black community in the[affirmative action] cases up to the United States Supreme Court. Beyond that, some Jewish intellectuals gave credence and policy substance to such concepts as "reverse discrimination" and "quotas" as reasons for restricting further attempts to continue to seek remedies for present discrimination against Blacks."

Maybe, Mr. Bond, you should apologize or step down. Maybe the head of the history department at the U of Virginia needs to remove you. I think we learned about the line of succession back in 8th grade.

FReepers, this has to result in a FReep. Does anyone here go to the U of Va? Some flyers for Bond's students might be nice. Something posted on bulletin boards might be nice. A letter to the editor of the school paper might be nice. A call to the history department might be nice. Certainly, a Virginia newspaper needs to know about this, the Washington Times needs to know, and talk show hosts need to know.

Let the mocking of Julian Bond begin.

Elk Hills Naval oil and gas reserve was sold to Los Angeles-based Occidental Petroleum for $3.5 billion. This was somewhat controversial since the property is south of Yosemite Park.

I wasn't aware of any bidding process for Elk Hills. Gore has longtime connections with Occidental Petroleum. If you do a google search of Occidental Petroleum+Gore you'll get a lot of results.

This is the primary reason that I, a Black American, will not give one red cent to this bunch of Afrocentric Klansmen. And the shame of it all is that Julian Bond contiues to get away with it, simply because he, in the warped minds of the spineless liberal White press corps, is a so-called 'victim', thus giving him the 'right' to spew his hatred. David Horowitz documents this and other types of reverse discrimination/racism in his book, "Hating Whitey; and other politically correct ideas".
Either Bond needs to either get back on his meds, or be replaced altogether. The Congress could go even further, grow some you-know-whats, and actually order the IRS to pull the NAALCP's 501.3(c) status. This is definitely crossing the line of Democratic partisanship.

... and what, pray tell, does that make Al "Freddie's Fashion Mart" Sharpton, McGruder, you smug, self-adoring little leftist lightweight? He actively, intentionally fanned black racist sentiments to a fever pitch in Harlem one bright, sunny afternoon, some years back... and is morally culpable, therefore, in the brutal, execution-style slayings of seven blameless, defenseless human beings.
