LOS ANGELES (AP) - The mighty tycoon in "Citizen Kane" had a little wooden sled to remind him of his humble origins. Citizen Arnold Schwarzenegger has the old M47 tank from his early years in the Austrian military. That's just one example of the appetite for extremes that the new governor of California will bring to Sacramento, where he'll be sworn into office Monday. There, the tanned, Armani-clad action star will mingle and make policy with the rumpled suits of the state Legislature.

Well, that's not a prejudicial stereotype, is it? (sarcasm=off)

Bully for him. He earned it, didn't he?

Or would the Liberal press like it better if he'd come into this country illegally and sucked money off the cash cow known as Liberal Social Programs for Illegal Aliens?

The difference is that the "rumpled suits of the State legislature" spend extravagantly using OTHER people's money. Arnold spends his own.

This is a flaming character assassination foisted off as a "news" story from the AP wire.

No liberal bias in the media right? I notice no similar pieces on mega-millionaire democrats Rockefeller or Kennedy. Or for that matter the Empress Hillary or her stock fraud enriched winged monkey Terry McAwful of the DNC.

God, did this article not drip of both class and penis envy? The Left never seems to have a problem when one of theirs goes in extravigance,or make crazy demands .. Go Arnold, enjoy your M47..

"Citizen Kane" ends with a whispered "rose bud", the European slang for, well, er uh, Clinton's "around the world" fetish.

So what?

'Negger is rich, a self-made Kennedy.

He reportedly has five of the original designs and one new model Hummer H2.... Environmentalists criticized his use of the gas-guzzling vehicles during his campaign

Even O'Reilly jumped on this "gas-guzzling Hummer" bandwagon absent of facts. The original (Big) diesel Hummer gets around 24 mph. The new smaller Hummer2..gets 10 mpg.

Yeah sleaze ball Willie Brown managed to amass a fortune, while never working outside of government. He's no stranger to Armani suits, and Bruno Magli shoes. THAT was okay cause he lead a life " dedicated to public service".

The Cohiba which you buy at most smoke US shops 'legally' are Columbian. Try a Monte Cristo again Columbian. However, Cohibas and Cristos are made in Havana as well.

I'm not really impressed.

Celebrities are hounded every minute, and stalked by every psycho celebrity chasing nutball within range, people are constantly trying to sue them, take their photo, dig up dirt, peak through your windows, kidnap your relatives etc etc.

I feel sorry for these types. Their life isn't their own. They can't even go down and eat a meal at the local restaurant without getting mobbed , starred down, gawked at, and harassed.

Most "regular" people don't understand, that the rich and famous very seldom get to enjoy any of their toys. They are very seldom home to enjoy their fabulous homes, and they have to put up with constant bull sh*t....Many wind up sitting in the dark, doing drugs and drinking....

Aahh, thanks. I don't smoke cigars myself, I just always heard that Cohibas were very good and that they were Cuban.

"Sometimes Arnold sees people or some of his friends wearing other watches and he'll come up to them and say, 'That's a girlie watch,'"

I don't mind a rich fella collecting exorbitant trinkets one bit.

But anyone who would say this sounds like a real a$$#@!&.

If he can get Kalifornians to be like him, more power to him. Maybe they can wake up to reality?

The reality of us Californians is that we recognise that Arnold EARNED this money. He didn't suck at the public teat for 30+ years, with a plastic hairdo and a barely tattooed on smile like Davis has done, muttering: I am a vet. I still want to know EXACTLY what Davis did in the military.

We also recognise that Arnold is a SELF-MADE man.
We admire that in this state. He doesn't charge $100 for a Broadway theatre ticket like Rosie to see debauchery in wild colored clothes. He doesn't sue at the drop of a hat to use a lawyer to take someone else's hard earned money. He doesn't smoke for 40 years, and then expect to make millions from the tobacco companies. He doesn't spill hot coffee on his lap and blame MCDonalds. He spent the time and effort to become something. Whether you think a "body builder/movie star" is "something or not, the point is that he did it all alone. He is not one member of a 5 person roundball team. Didn't choke his coach. Didn't use cocaine and get chance after chance to prove he is an "athlete"who can swing a bat.
Why does so much of all this sound like whining?
Davis lied to us, with a entire "adult" life of "experience" as a politician. We were sick of the same old story and the same old lies.
I don't think Arnold has an easy road in front of him, but the Demorats have been running this entire state into the quicksand, and they have been spending on programs and commissions and give-away items beyond belief. They have taken care of their cronies at the great expense of the residents, and then the cap of it all is the multiple items of social extras that will break the back of business and drive all the insurance companies nuts with drivers Licenses for illegal immigrants.
I hope that Arnold can put a stop to at least SOME of the bleeding.
Lucky you if you live in a state where the Politicians have not been so cavalier about running up the deficit. What are there? 3 of those states?

Arnold definitely spends his riches in interesting and cool ways. I imagine him poking Teddy Kennedy in the ribs at Thanksgiving dinner ands saying "He liva-boy, why so bloated? Is that a girlie watch on your wrist? Rolex is for babies."

SUVs:

I always shake my head when I hear about some SUV hater. Beyond the "he earned it", which is obvious, are further facts that are ignored. One is that I know people who commute hours every day, and even if their car gets 50% better gas mileage, I know they're "wasting" 5 times more gas (and polluting 5 times as much, or whatever) than I am because I choose to live near my job. Also, my girlfriend's old Civic got about the same mileage as my SUV, beause it was old and was getting poor mileage. Not to mention that during the crazy LA floods this week, there were many SUVs who made it home, while others were stuck in Watts or Compton in the water. So the SUV-phobes should alter their attack on SUVs by saying "...those gas-guzzling, unless you live close to your work, oversized, unless you need to be safe in an emergency, polluting, unless you compare it to many older cars next to them on the road, SUVs...".
And people who want to spraypaint SUVs to show how "green" they are, should remember to stop along the way and spraypaint all the older cars, cars of people who commute, and cars who are made in countries who's environmental laws are more lax than ours, go park in Watts overnight, and THEN start spraypainting the SUVs - which means they'll never GET to the SUVs.
