I didn't take on anyone. And just how do I sound like a "libertarian"? And whats wrong with agreeing with libertarians on some issues?

Did you post a comment that supported the Supreme Court's decision regarding the Texas sodomy law?

I think that post was supposed to be to me, not to yourself.

And what exactly do you mean? What are you accusing me of? And what am I wrong about?

Does Liza & David count as a gay marriage?

I think that they have to make a whole new catagory for Liza and David.

Hmmm... I turn your stomach, eh? Sorry to hear that. However, I believe that you grossly misunderstood my post, and that is my fault. I am not a fence rider, but I am not an extremist either. I do believe wholeheartedly and until the day that I die, that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, and that it is an institution that should never be altered. Not condoning gay marriage and not condemning it severely, means that while holding to my above stated view, I do not run around stomping on the other side like Godzilla with an attitude. :-) (I'm not implying that you or anyone else is.) I don't jump on bandwagons, it's not my style. But, I do not want to "just get along", thereby taking the safe way out because I do not want to get trounced upon by either side. That is a fence rider. The bottom line is, that post was just an attempt to express frustration at the extremes I've experienced. I do not feel that I should be forced to accept a darn thing if I don't want to. But constantly listening to both sides in really bad stereo wears one out! Even if it's a side that I agree with.

Agree with everything you said.

I thought your position was just the opposite! Boy, I cant always "read" folks right!

Well, I just read the news - guess gays are going to get "married", sanctioned by the courts.

Satan is very pleased.

They should lay low and only voice civil, reasoned, and quiet dissent

Absolutely! If Judge Moores supporters would have followed this Godly course, he might have won his case.

In any event, only God can bring the desired change, and we can only affect His opinion through prayer and, of course, quiet, respectful dissent...

Oh, I get it. If you hold doggedly to any kind of exclusionary opinion or way of thinking (aka literal interpretation of the Bible), then you're an extremist. I can almost hear the jackboots stomping on the pavement as we speak. That's fine with me, label me an extremist, it beats being called a libertarian milksop.

There's an old saw that says those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

You can call me a libertarian milksop if it tickles your fancy. In fact, I find it amusing. But I'm not one, nor did I have the intent of labeling you as extremist, or implying that you were one. I have no idea if you are or are not. If you are, that's okay. If you aren't, that's okay too. My posts were not a personal attack on you, or anyone, and I have no idea why you are taking it as such. I'm conservative, and proud of it, and I shall stay that way. End of story. I guess I'm just more mild mannered than most. And if you dislike me for whatever reason, fine. But the discussion stops here.

You can hold any exclusinary opinion you like. In fact, I hold many. Augusta Nationals right to remain all male for one just to give an example. The Catholic churches right to not allow priests to marry for another.

And you can have a literal interpretation of the Bible if you like. But this country is not governed by the Bible, but by the Constitution, and sometimes unfortunatly, the Supreme Courts view of what the Constitution says.

I am personally against gay marriage, and civil unions. Not on any religious grounds. But on my belief that the government has the legitimate and proper authority to define marriage as it sees fit. Currently between a single man and a single women. I am writting up a new blog on the subject as week speak and I will be sure and send you a link to it and I look forward to your reading it and giving me your response.

the polls i've seen over the past couple of years range from 51 to 60% opposed.

the level of opposition has been in steady decline ever since pollsters started asking the question. what is more, opposition is lowest among younger americans, and highest among senior citizens. within a generation, gay marriage will be as mainstream as interracial marriage.

The gay rights groups, aided by activist judges, are trying to redefine the dictionary.

Ironic that the court did exactly that.. Redefined the dictionary.

Is that for civil unions or gay marriage?
