Bump

"We did not charge hundreds of miles into the heart of Iraq and pay a bitter cost of casualties and liberate 25 million people only to retreat before a band of thugs and assassins."

The problem is that terror, intimidation, corruption and oppression are the methods of Mohammed.

I agree with your assessments and the need to give it a try. The fact is that Mohammed was consilatory when he had little choice. Our job is to make leaders in these countries (and Iraq is not the last) see that they destroy (or drive down) the radical element in their people and join the world as Bush sees it. The destruction of the radical element of islam will also require interpretation of Mohammad's Mecca revelations into a more peaceful and reformed islam, or we must go to plan B.

I have a problem with this analysis, and it's more than semantic:

The Muslims that would be at peace are the radicals.

I don't follow what you are saying. Won't be the last time either. My analysis is that muslims are either at your throat or under your foot. Radical or not, those who are well stomped out by other muslims should not pose a threat to the western culture. Like the indians who never surrendered, when they lost enough support they to went onto the reservations.

Now mind you, I don't mind killing them as they resist either. Its just that I would prefer that it not be necessary to kill them all. (Is there a middle ground?)
