LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Fried-chicken giant KFC said Wednesday it is ending an advertising campaign that touted its chicken as healthy and that had prompted a consumer group to complain to federal regulators.
Company spokeswoman Bonnie Warschauer said the television ads will stop airing later this week as part of the "normal course of business" but declined to say whether the decision was related to the complaint filed by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. She said the ads informed consumers how its Original Recipe fried chicken could be part of a balanced diet.

I was screaming at the screen when this ad first played. I have been on a strict diet for 2 years and I will guarantee you one thing, Kentucky Fried Chicken will NOT help anyone that is serious about getting healthy.

KFC is better than injecting tile grout into your aorta only because its tasty.

If my memory serves me correctly, the Center for Science in the Public Interest are the bunch of food nazis who among many things wanted to remove buttered popcorn from theaters.

I don't care. Fried chicken is one of my favorite foods. Do everything in moderation and if you are lucky, you'll probably live a reasonable length of time.

I thought the ad was cool when I realized that an actor with a bit part in "Office Space" was the blond guy.

Getting overly stressed over a 30 second TV commercial also will NOT help anyone serious about getting healthy.

Kentucky Fried Chicken will NOT help anyone that is serious about getting healthy. I eat it all the time and I am quite healthy.
It's not what you eat, it's how much you eat.
Eat enough of anything and it'll kill you.

KFC friend chicken is for pansies.
Fatback fried Southern friend chicken is what you want to get ahold of, I think.
Not enough fat in KFC's.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were actually true.

Not only are they food nazis, they are anti- capitalists. I saw a link to the American Communist Party by researching some of the spokespersons that showed up in news releases and their literature.

Whatever.......
Several years ago (I can't understand why Atkins is so hot NOW, since I was on an Atkins/Sugarbusters type diet several years ago when they first came out)I lost about 20 pounds eating chicken caesar salads from Wendy's every other day for lunch and eating original fried chicken (no potatoes, no gravy, no biscuit) and coleslaw every other day from KFC for lunch.

It said that two KFC pieces of fried chicken had less fat than a big mac ? Thanks for your description of the KFC commercial.
Using google, I tried to find a video stream of the commercial, but I did not get lucky.
I suspect someone will post the commercial in the internet soon.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
The food nazis want to take away your fried chicken. No wonder KFC upset them. A diet of nothing but fast food isn't healthy but its not going to harm your health eating out every now and then.

I will guarantee you one thing, Kentucky Fried Chicken will NOT help anyone that is serious about getting healthy. What about those who are already healthy and can control temptation? Surely it can't be much worse than a hamburger or a glass of wine. Why support the food nazis?

It would be a lot healthier if they'd stop frying it in partially-hydrogenated vegetable oil and either used just straight vegeatable oil, or (the best tasting option) lard/beef tallow/beef shortening. Few things are worse for your heart and arteries than trans-fatty acids like hydrogenated vegetable oils).
