Santa Rosa Island, in the channel islands, was home to a very impressive population of those critters when I was there in the early sixties.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Ex-president Clinton was being driven down some country roads when his car hit and killed a farmers pig.

Clinton told the driver to go to the farmers house and explain what happened.

The driver was gone for quite awhile when he finally returned to the car. He was carrying a bottle of booze, his hair was all tussled up and his clothes were half off.

Mr. Clinton saw him and asked what happened?

The driver said he told the farmer what happened and the farmer handed him a bottle of booze, the wife danced with him in joy and the farmer's daughter showered him with kisses.

Mr. Clinton asked what did he say to the farmer?

The driver said he told the farmer "he was Clinton's driver and he just killed the pig".

That's what happens when you got some 'damn yankee' from 'new yawk city' trying to be PC talking about shooting a wild razorback!

Dem hawgz can get 500lbs+ very easily - and they run real fast too. <=---personal experience getting chased by a couple boars!

I believe that animal was actually raised by hand by a group of gay high school students and did not constitute a threat to anyone. The pet razorback, named "Mohammed," would come when called by name and would eat corn from the hand of most group members. Mohammed the pig really wasn't a threat.

Guy from Chattanooga killed one with a bow in the Cherokee National Forest that was 600 lbs. Man, that's a hawg! I've run into them hiking up in the Smokies but never hung around to say hello.
