I can understand this type of report from CNN or the Post but even "conservative" papers give these protests too much legitimacy. They are smaller than ballyhooed and are run by communists, socialists and other enemies of capitalism and democracy. Most of the "marchers" appear to be out for a good time more than a serious dissent.
Why they are getting so much coverage by "our" media is beyond me. Who cares what they have to say?

Why they are getting so much coverage by "our" media is beyond me. I know you asked this rhetorically, but do we really have to ask? The leftist-anarchist world view is shared by many in big media. Most importantly, the protesters make arguments that actually make sense to the Bush-bashing, pro-Hillary/pro-Dean, Michael Moore praising, DNC-wing known as big media. To the rest of us, of course, the protester's arguments are silly and even dangerous. But you'll never learn that from most news outlets.
