Depp is a metrosexual. One would expect the captain of a pirate ship to be a big, burly man. Depp was a little wimp, no matter how much make-up and costume they put on him.
Plus, he's anti-American.

The poll wasn't about most patriotic. It was about sex appeal. I think Depp is pretty sexy- - -slightly built or not. Can't think of anyone else offhand who comes close.
