Ed Schultz Commentary (Just Before Blowhard Was Dumped From National Talk Radio Slot)
KGO-AM ^ | Ed (Blowhard) Schultz

Scarborough and Country…another appearance…

One of the most intriguing things I have ever done in this business is be on with Joe Scarborough, although I have never met the guy. It is interesting when you walk in to MSNBC studios in Washington DC, you go through security, you go up to the 8th floor, you get buzzed in after you talk to somebody on the intercom, then you walk right in to a waiting room. Somebody will walk right in, take you in to the next room, put some make-up on you and tell you to just sit tight and that they will be with you in a few minutes. Then a producer comes over, takes you in to another small room, sits you in front of a camera, puts an earpiece in your ear and tells you to look straight ahead. Next thing you know you are listening to Joe Scarborough in your earpiece and you are being asked questions about what’s going on. I have never met the man. He is probably a nice guy. I have never debated anybody face to face. It is rather strange. It’s something I have never done before. It’s something I am going to have to learn. Normally I am the guy who is giving all of the commentary and asking all of the questions but this is a new challenge for me. It’s part of the fun of going syndicated.

What’s it like in the big city…

Friday was one of the most extraordinary days I have ever spent in this business. After my wife and I took a private jet to Washington DC, we had the opportunity to be on C-SPAN with Brian Lamb. He is a fascinating guy, asked direct questions, seemed to be very prepared and the environment was one in which I had never really been associated with before. All of the sudden I found myself on national television answering questions live. I had no idea what was coming nor did I have an opportunity to meet Mr. Lamb before we went on the air. It was fun. It was challenging. The questions from the callers were wide ranging and to the point. I think on a few occasions I might have been a little evasive but I think I struck a nerve with a lot of people. Once we got home over the weekend after doing Scarborough and Country and also taping a bit with Buchanan and Press, I spent the weekend answering some 500 e-mails. I can’t answer them all but I got most of them. I want to thank all of the people nationwide who are supporting this venture. I mean the comments ranged from I’m the devil and my red hair shows it to god bless you, our prayers are being answered. The switchboard at KFGO got phone calls from every state. People were asking where they could go to get the program. We will have more on that in the coming days. This is turning into a real combat zone. I’m not going to take any guff from any right-wingers just because I’m from a small market and I want people in this country to know that Big Eddie is on the way. We are going to launch probably in January, maybe sooner. Stations are signing up faster than expected and we are excited about it. A lot of people with their e-mails were wondering why my show is not on the internet. Quite frankly, Clear Channel won’t stream KFGO in Fargo. That’s not my decision. My job is to make sure we continue to run the number one AM station in America.

We are headed back to Washington this week for a number of meetings with some key people that are going to help us produce this show. This is definitely going to cut in to my hunting. The deer hunting season opens up this weekend in North Dakota plus the University of North Dakota can win the North Central Conference Championship outright with a win at South Dakota. I will be back for the game on Saturday in Vermillion, South Dakota. Our lives have definitely changed.

In recent days I have gotten e-mails from all over the country and one thing that has struck a nerve with a lot of conservatives is the term that I use in a quote to the Associated Press -- “conservative mantra”. Mantra – what is the definition of mantra? Well Webster’s Dictionary says it’s a word or formula to be recited or sung. When I say there is a conservative mantra in this country that’s exactly what I’m talking about on talk radio. The argument can be made that the media in this country, all the different networks, may slant to the left. We could debate that all day long. But the fact is on talk radio in America there is an absolute lack of the progressive format and progressive talent in the industry. This is exactly what I was talking about. There is a conservative mantra out there on talk radio in America and the other side isn’t being told. I’m looking forward to this challenge. The e-mails are interesting. You can get a hold of me here at KFGO. I love to respond to anybody, anywhere, anytime, if I have the time. Stay tuned.

Better get UNEXCITED about it, Ed, you blowhard. The Drobny's saw what a disaster you are and ditched that whole national liberal radio talk host scheme on some sucker. And that sucker is now talking about Al Franken hosting the show.....definitely NOT you. However, I want to thank you for not taking down your dated commentary gloating about your national radio show that is NOT to be. So, Ed, how does it feel to be a national laughingstock! You came out of the gate all puffed up and now you have been unceremoniously DUMPED and b*tch-slapped by your liberal "friends."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!

"Progressive" is what red sonofabitches call themselves when "communist" doesn't work anymore.

It was done unceremoniously. What happened is that Blowhard Ed was the Drobny's choice to take on Rush. Then after Bloward appeared on the tube a few times, the business acumen of the Drobney's overrode their liberalism and they realized that Blowhard was sure to FAIL so they unloaded their whole liberal radio talk host dream on some poor sucker. The Poor Sucker then decided to go with Al Franken. And now it isn't even sure that the Poor Sucker is even going to launch that talk radio network. In any event, Blowhard is now definitely OUT of the picture after having made of FOOL of himself with a lot of public bragging.

a la The Nation and The Progressive Caucus.

Until 1999, the website of the Progressive Caucus was hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America.

Yikes, that is the scariest website I've seen in a while.

Just think of how great the country could be if all of the PC members just disappeared one day.

I dream about it all the time. Why are these congressmen called 'Socialists'? Plain and simple.

You're hilarious, compare Ed to Rush and then talk blow-hard.
