I just viewed this thread and I would seriously recommend the owners of this site contact the US Secret Service, FBI, and US Army regarding this post by ChiefKujo with all information they may have on his account ASAP. I would also recommend forwarding all information contained within along with other posts at FR relating to his identity.

After having viewed other posts at FR it was clear he is US Army stationed in Iraq. If I could figure this out then anyone - especially a person with interest in harming the president - could have figured this out. He jeopardized the security arrangments of the President by leaking this information at the time he did.

You put the Presidents life in danger, other soldiers lives in danger, and more than likely disobeyed direct orders.

This is unfathomable, and I believe the owners of this site with information on ChiefKujo's account have a legal obligation to contact the proper authorities ASAP with information regarding the identity and SERIOUS security risk this soldier represents to the security of the United States, the President, and the US Military.

So the DU was only 3 1/2 days late in noticing this. They are getting quicker! It seems that watching FR can even help those at DU a bit.

This woman has nothing better to do than to make sure we're all tied into our cars the way she sees fit. She's a control freak. Other than that, she's ambivalent on abortion, 2nd Amendment rights, etc. Should fit right in to the 'new' Republican party

Elizabeth Dole is a classic upper-crusty Republican by background and education. All these social issues you cite are about her courting the women's vote on the "Hillary Cluster" issues, plus most women's always wanting to feel safe, even at the price of liberty and progress. If the human race had listened to such women, we'd still be living under rock shelters and eating raw bison. But Liddy Dole courts them and reflects their concerns. She wants to be a Women's Candidate and ride into the White House of a newly feminized America on an estrogen-soaked platform that would turn the stomachs of our conservative sisters who know what it's really all about, and that without freedom we'd have nothing, especially if we were never willing to risk a bloody nose.

At the end of the day, I don't think you could wedge a credit card between Liddy Dole and Beast Woman herself on the "Hillary Cluster" issues.

I have a caption for that picture:

"So, Senator Clinton, did you hear that President Bush snuck off to Iraq today and spoke to our troops there? Isn't that GREAT? We really appreciate our Commander-in-Chief doing that for us! So, ma'am, how's the turkey?"

In theory you are correct. However, his actions did not endanger anyone, and it's obvious his intent was to wait until it was okay before posting details.

By the way, welcome to FreeRepublic! :) Are you in Iraq? (Your born-on-date says that you're east of the eastern timezone here in the US, assuming that your locale settings are correct.)

The SR-71 takes off w/ 8% of total fuel capacity, fueled in air about 150 miles out, then goes into supersonic flight mode, capable of flying at up to 200k feet and to deeply penetrating airspace of a nation w/ a vast frontier such as the Soviet Union, more than twice as high as the U-2 spy plane, once and again the premier reconnnassiance aircraft for the U.S.

There was also research in applying the design to a supersonic strategic bomber, but that never materialized.

When I was "in", back in 1971, I met a chief warrant ET type who'd stood lots of weapons watches as duty officer on the Gun Line in the Gulf of Tonkin. One night he was on watch-officer duty in the CIC of USS Horne, a DLG patrolling on Yankee Station. The radar operator called his attention to a return that looked like a fast mover climbing out of a base on the island of Formosa. The radar operator, with little else to look at elsewhere, clicked the trackball and got a lock -- the target was doing 2400 knots, headed across the Formosa Straits toward China and climbing like a bat out of hell. "Damn", said both men, and my friend said to the radar operator, "Hit it again." This time, 3600 knots and enormous altitude. That was enough to classify the target, right there. The unknown was still accelerating -- my friend estimated that by this time he was doing about 4500 kts and still accelerating, now over China, when suddenly the vox circuit the task group's cruiser was on blared, calling the Horne and commanding "Break lock! Break lock now!" The radar operator's hand was about to descend to hit the bug again, and he looked up at my friend, who smiled and shook his head "no". The target continued on its way westward at unbelievable speed, and my friend and his radar operator had the satisfaction that they'd locked up an SR-71.

Later on I read an article about the CIA's flights over China, collecting material from Chinese nuclear-weapons tests, and the article stated that those flights were east-to-west and typically recovered in Norway after only 20 minutes, and it offered the snippet that the engine nacelles typically glowed bright orange in flight, with operating temperatures so high that liquid metal was used as the lubricant. Something to think about. And we mothballed this aircraft? I grant you the design and many of the airframes were nearly 40 years old, but still. Do you suppose we already had something better?

"Do you suppose we already had something better?"

What has been named the Aroura I suspect is the replacement.

In the early 80s I had just taken off from Mojave airport and a black dart looking aircraft which looked more like a rocket than an airplane with wings and tail streaked out of Edwards at an amazing speed and climb. It was only probably 10 miles from me when I first saw it and it was completely out of sight within less than 10 seconds.

I had previously seen an SR-71 and this aircraft had no resemblance to it.

bumping up for comparison with how the Obama children have handled a "top secret" mission to "see the troops" in a war zone.

Bush = legit,

Obama = expensive campaign trip to pretend to be a leader and to remind everyone he single handily killed Osama Bin Laden!
